I love these threads. Asking how badly, arguably the best fighter in the last 20 years, would beat up a current mw. You guys must really revere ggg.

Roy might get KO'ed by GGG. Roy lacks fundamentals and makes amateurish mistakes. On top of that, he NEVER had a chin. They think Floyd and Roy are gods and they are not. Nowhere near.
You told me a few days ago that Roy wasn't elusive.

Sure did.

He wasn't. What's elusive about being an athletic freak? About fighting B/C/D level opposition? Roy lacked basic boxing fundamentals. He did amateurish things that an A Level fighter WILL take advantage of. He was not that great of a fighter. Americans love hype and so does the media.

Roy Jones at his best was a highly tuned fighting machine, his judgment of distance coming in from range hitting a dude big then getting out clean every time is not something just some athletic freak could do.
His style is insanely hard to pull off, which is why no one should even attempt to fight like him but there is a ton of skill in what he did make no mistake about that.

What A Level fighters did Roy fight? Hopkins? Guess what? Bernard was not an A Level fighter when Roy fought him. He was a prospect. And James Toney was arrogant and didn't train for Roy or else he would've KO'ed him. You see what Hopkin's did to Roy in the rematch when he was an A Level fighter? You see what JC did to him? You see what Tarver did to him? You see what GJ did to him? And Johnson wasn't even an A Level fighter. Roy lacked heart and toughness. On top of that, he couldn't take a punch. You morons don't know boxing in my eyes. One attribute does not beat a great fighter. Roy's speed would not keep SK or GGG off him. It wouldn't keep SRL or Hagler off of him. He would have to take leather to beat those guys. PERIOD. History says, he wouldn't be able to take that kind of leather.
And one more example. Remember how Danny green Ko'ed Roy. Hahaha!!!! Do you remember how Tarver went over to his home town and beat him down with fundamentals just a short time after???? The end!

The comparison is this, Jones never looked as good as GGG against B level comp. he was fast but against elite level comp was never Super. Jones clowned part time boxers. His fights against actual top fighters were less spectucalar.
Only a fool would think Jones could stop a fighter who hasn't even touched the canvas in 400+ fights.
You guys are living off myth and hate.
The myth that Roy Jones was Superman.
And hating on GGG, a decorated amateur and world class boxer. Get the fuq out here with that bull**** ( and that's not directed at only you but many others) the fight would be close and epic.
Roy didn't have a defining fight?
Roy didn't look as good as GG did when beating B class guys.
What the **** are you talking about?
It took GG eleven rounds to beat Martin Murray.
So nobody knocked out GG in three round amateur fights with headgear on. Which means that Roy couldn't have knocked him out?
Roy took out Thomas Tate in two rounds, who'd previously gone twelve rounds with Julian Jackson.
He's the only person to knock out Hill in 57 fights.
He took out Griffin in under three mins with a lead uppercut.
He barely lost rounds in his prime.
Why don't you come back when you have a clue what you're talking about.
It's absolute madness to criticise Roy's career, when GG hasn't achieved anything as yet.

As someone who has watched every Jones fight and was basically a fanatic at one point, that Golovkin jab he throws while coming in low is gonna give Roy alot of problems, the same way Griffin pushed Roy into the ropes to let him get off clean shots(luckily Griffin has next to no power), Roy couldn't even outbox Griffin, he had to walk through his power to stop him, he can't do that with Golovkin.
It's more than possible Roy could have stopped him.
GG has great skills, and he's great at cutting off the ring, but Roy's attributes would have been a nightmare for him.

Virgil Hill was OLD as ever when Roy KO'ed him with that body shot. Do you think Roy would even fight "prime" Hill, who was an elite fighter? Hell no! HE wouldn't even fight Michael Nunn! Nunn would've kicked Roy's ass too! And of course he barely lost a round in his prime. He was a product of excellent match making. We do have a clue. You are a Fanboy like many others on here. Roy ain't walking through SK or GGG, man. Only an idiot thinks that. You fanboys are over the top and have gone too far on here. Roy and Floyd are not boxing gods!!!!!! SRL and Sweet Pea were!!!! Get the difference?
