The comparison is this, Jones never looked as good as GGG against B level comp. he was fast but against elite level comp was never Super. Jones clowned part time boxers. His fights against actual top fighters were less spectucalar.

Only a fool would think Jones could stop a fighter who hasn't even touched the canvas in 400+ fights.

You guys are living off myth and hate.

The myth that Roy Jones was Superman.

And hating on GGG, a decorated amateur and world class boxer. Get the fuq out here with that bull**** ( and that's not directed at only you but many others) the fight would be close and epic.
Jones did look inhuman vs Reggie Johnson.

I think the middle weight version of RJJ wins a wide decision and makes GGG look foolish doing it.

You really reach with this one. Carl Froch wasn't down either in his amateur carreer, he got floored when he stepped up the competetion, which GGG has yet to do - Going into his 34th year.

Jones had his best years at 175 not 160. I think his speed of foot & hands is a problem for GGG plus the fact that Roy won't let GGG set up.
I do think that GGG would use a double and triple jab to move closer and see if he can get Roy on the defensive as much as possible.
It could be a good fight or Roys over all speed could keep GGG starting and restarting it could become a boxing lesson.

Not sure why the hate for GGG runs wild here.
he comes to the ring in shape and looks to stop the fight as soon as possible.
There are contracts for 160 out there to all comers. Unless the money is short the top guys refuse to sign.
I know Canelo and Cotto won't have a money issue fighting him, he IS a draw now and action is promised. Cotto is the better fight but either one will make a hot ticket!

I wouldn't call it hate it's just antihype. I guess people like me just don't want unwarranted "godlike" status.

Simply no, two prospects fighting for a vacant title. Fight means nothing in boxing history.

Jones didn't clown Hopkins. It was an uneventful fight where neither man wanted to commit.

                    50/50 fight
                    Fully agreed.

GGG vs Jones is 50/50, Jones clowned on firemen but never against elite comp and factor in his suspect chin and GGG real power and you have an all time great battle.

Whilst I acknowledge he fought a few cab drivers, I believe a prime Jones clowned prime versions of James Toney and Bernard Hopkins. Not to mention top wins against the likes of Montel Griffin, John Ruiz and Antonio Tarver etc...

Jones' chin only became suspect in the latter years after Tarver KO'd him.

I don't think GGG lays a notable shot on RJJ. RJJ clowns him for a UD.
