He says lots of stuff. As long as he holds on to those titles (which he can vacate with a letter or call), he's still active.

That's part of why I like Roman's being embraced more. If he goes on an extended run, he's impossible to ignore and impossible to market. It exposes the marketing of mythological lists and reminds that fights happen in DIVISIONS.

Who's better...Golovkin or Wlad? In the big picture, who gives a ****...they can never fight. Golovkin-Canelo and Wlad-Fury...far more interesting questions.
lol yeah this is true, fans get into a heated debate.

      • A great case can be made. He has been unbeaten in over twenty fights(nearly all title fights), has been IBF champion for nearly ten years and has nearly unified his division and he has managed to not only beat his competition, but also knock many of them out. If nothing else, his consistency is amazing. If he beats Fury, it's hard not to see him number one.

Shane Mosley is a greater middleweight than Michael Nunn, Sergio Martinez

Luther Rawlings 38 wins 24 losses is a greater welterweight than Timothy Bradley Jr

          • If Vlad beats Fury and takes the WBC title from Wilder or Povetkin eventually, will he get due credit?

              • Boxrec has Antonio Tarver as the 30th greatest heavyweight of all time, ahead of ken Norton and jack dempsey..
That's all you need to know about boxrec rankings

He's similarly dominant for the last few years, has quality wins, and he didn't have to get stopped three times to get it. Those losses were a long time ago, but they still happened, and two when he was well into his career and near prime physically. The talent hasn't been the sort at Heavyweight to overlook that in comparisons.
I'd say the same about Golovkin. Similar competition to Wlad, even more dominant, and he looks much much better.

Kovalev has a decent case for the top spot right now. I don't actually think he's the best fighter in the world, but based on his performance and competition it's not a stretch to put him above guys who are not fighting that often or lost their last fight like Pacquiao. However the Golovkin/Ward/Kovalev trio shakes out down the line, that guy will almost certainly be the best fighter in the world.

Not sure if I said it in this thread or another, but I don't think anyone should be in the top spot. I'd just leave it vacant for the moment.

                    • So if Fury beats the **** out of Wlad, does he automatically become top 3 p4p?
