I agree that we need another option and I proposed such in another post. That does not change the fact that I have no pity for a fighter who abuses the rules by draining himself down and then rehydrating for the fight if he is prevented from rehydrating by the rules. Tough luck. You know the rules going in.

What is really needed is to have this taken out of the hands of private sanctioning bodies and a government mandated FEDERAL commission put in place to ensure fighter safety. Having individual State commissions has not worked and will never work. But I would not be surprised if there is some ****** statute somewhere that prevents this from being controlled federally.

Eh, I'm kinda indifferent on the pity aspect to it. I mean anyone getting hit in the head as their job is going into that career knowing that bad things can happen. So it is what it is.

I'd rather not see the government getting involved in sports ever. Boxing or the NFL or MLB or whatever. Boxing should be ran by boxing people. That said I definitely agree the alphabet groups are a poor choice of "leaders" in the boxing world.

I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of boxers, trainers, managers, promoters type group that could police itself & make rule changes as needed. Could be a career for ex-boxers to take up as the active upper management types of this sorta group. Get Pavlik outta the bar & Mosley outta the ring maybe. Idk I'd just rather see boxing people running boxing rather than redtape expert government types or the corrupt en****** we currently have that some people even hype somehow.
