Marquez is a great counter puncher but requires someone who comes at him. While most fighters including Manny prefer that type of fighter, someone like Manny can attack and does not need to rely on being just a counter puncher. So that plus Manny's explosiveness gives Manny the clear edge between the 2.

Not saying that Manny is Ali but I guess one way to look at it is Ali vs Frazier or vs Norton. Norton and Frazier always gave Ali trouble but Ali was the much better overall fighter.


Floyd vs Manny
We didn't see the same fight. Maybe you saw an impressive Floyd but looking back, the injured Manny had the better moments.
Floyd resorted to hugging, pushing off, head locks, bending below the waist, pulling Manny's arm because he knew about Manny's injury, used his elbows, and Floyd's supposed scoring punches were mostly "touch jabs".

I saw a close fight. There were a few clear Manny rounds and a few clear Floyd rounds. The rest were close. All those close rounds went to Floyd but quite a few of them could have and some should have gone to Manny. If Manny was the hometown kid that Nevada wanted to see win, Manny would have prevailed. Instead, they specifically selected judges like Dave Moretti who has judged 9 of Floyd's last 11 fights. Included a ref that would not deduct a point from Floyd no matter what Floyd did.
