There is no such thing as double standards.

People didn't say anything... It was Paul Smith who said that: "Andre Ward Beats Kovalev By Wide Margin"...
... And you are on this particular thread...

I said: wait until Ward makes a move whatsoever... Because Ward hardly moves lately...

Any chance this fight happening before the year ends? Why are Ward fans not pushing for this fight? What's the issue?

Have you seen the videos of Lennox Lewis and Wlad both being KO'd twice?

How can anybody call those two guys great heavyweight champions after watching that?

            1) because it is highly unlikely to happen before Ward moves to 175

            2) because RN/Duva have already discussed that fight, it is on the horizon

            3) because we are too busy laughing at Golovkin's excuses to duck Ward

When Ward moves to 175, we will not push for that fight, we will demand it.

            No issue here !

              This.

Ward's last fight was in Kovalev's division, and Krusher has said he's ready as soon as Andre is.

The gauntlet has been thrown down. Now let's see if Ward picks it up. If he does, then you guys can start talking about how he's going to beat Kovalev.

But it won't happen. Ward was a light puncher at 168 and Kovalev is one of the hardest hitting 175lb'ers ever.

There is nothing that Ward could do to compensate for his lack of power compared to Kovalev, and he knows it.

Honestly, Ward hasn't shown whether he is good still

I don't know what is worst, the fact the author called Paul Smith a tough fighter, or that Smith thinks Ward would easily win this fight. There is Kovalev is going to throw a 100 potential fight changing punches.

Ward has always been a big SMW, it's about time he fights where he did during the Olympics.

GGG doesn't need an excuse to duck Ward:

                1. Ward hasn't fought anyone of note in years. He isn't ranked in P4P anymore. He can't even give away his tickets. He is not a draw. He last fought at 172, and admittedly walks around at 180. (I'll use all that as reason one)

                2. GGG rehydrates to 170, and Ward would to 185-190. If GGG went up to SMW and beat Ward, it'd give every other MW and pretender MW (Cotto/Alverez) an excuse to duck him.

                3. GGG is a smaller MW, just so happens to blast like a bigger fighter,

                4. GGG last weigh in came in at 157.

                5. GGG started out as a Welterweight when non-pro, but was a MW in the Olympics. He didn't move down after the Olympics to fight smaller fighters like Ward did.

                6. GGG is a growing star with a large backing. If he keeps winning, he'll soon be the PPV attraction everyone wants. Ward, well he has thrown his career away. He needs to rebuild it.

                7. GGG would be a moron to throw the opportunity to get all MW belts by going upto SMW, just to fight a LHW who hasn't fought a live body in two years.

LETS NOT FORGET--Ward has had multiple chances to get in the ring with GGG. He recently had a chance to meet at 164, and get 50% of purse.

Ward had Dawson come down to 168, so there's no excuse for Ward being unwilling to come down to 164 if he is so great.

But Ward would need every bit of that 15-20 pounds he'd have on GGG if they fought now. Because GGG would hurt him.

I'm willing to bet after GGG unifies the MW, beats Canelo, and possibly even Floyd (but doubt Floyd will back his mouth up, always saying he'd beat GGG), then he'll move up to SMW.

I bet when GGG puts on 8 more pounds, suddenly Ward will demand it's at 175.

R u not a student of boxing history ? Out of Mugabe , Hearns , Duran and Hagler , Hagler had the least power among the group but still beat all three .

Then stop wetting yourself over it..... when Ward is ready, you will know.

                    RN/Duva have already discussed it.

Duva was more than happy with the discussions, and has earmarked that fight for the not too distant future.

When Ward moves up, that fight is a no-brainer.

Ward will not make excuses to avoid Kova, like GGG made to avoid Ward.

                    So what !

How is that even relevant ?

Kovalev will need more than power to beat the most well-rounded fighter in the game today.

Only casual fans talk like that.

                    skill/ringIQ/defence > power

You said ALLLLLLLLL that same shht about Pacquiao/Mayweather

                      LMAO

Smith got his ass kicked by Ward, he wants to make Ward look better than he is. Ward is a fantastic fighter no doubt, his headbutting aside though.

Ward doesn't possess the greatest power even in HIS weight class, I doubt he can keep the ferocious Kovalev off him.

I'll make a Avatar bet for a month that Killa Kov KO's Ward
