Many here would complain about how Margarito was too big for 147, his fans rightfully defended him in saying he could make the weight but when it came to Williams, Tony fans started singing a different tune. This was before the two faced by the way, the good ol' times.

You judge a fighter based off what they done

      Not that should've could've BS

He killed his own chance fighting mayweather, cotto n Mosley getting outboxed by 2nd tier quintana

That's the same thing people do with GGG

You don't get credit for speculation... Who knows what fights were realistic at the time

Look at cotto situation in 07...fight a future hall of famer in Mosley or a prospect in Williams for less money

      No one was ducking Williams

I admit he should've. He fights guys coming off big wins and Williams deserved Floyd, Manny or Cotto after beating Margarito.

Thing is the Margarito fight was the fight that put him on the radar at 147 for real. Sometimes things take time in boxing to make happen. Promoters are always "building up" fights so the new guy on the scene always get backlogged. Its kinda bs, but its standard bs that most guys go thru. The problem for Williams is he lost his next fight & took himself right off the radar at 147 for the name guys. Then he was outta 147 after avenging his L months later.

There isn't really much to complain about with Paul being avoided at 147. He grand opened vs Margarito, grand closed vs Quintana & was gone all in about a 13 month period. Few cats are going from getting on the scene to the biggest fights at a weight in 13 months in particular when they catch a L right in the middle of that period.
