It's worth noting that Floyd has never really beaten a guy who was longer than him. Oscar was taller, but he had the same reach. Guys like NDOU and Corrales weren't skilled enough.

It would be a huge shock to Floyd to fight guys like Leanord, Hagler, and Hearns who he wouldn't be able to control the distance against.

Hearns never faced anybody as elusive as Mayweather, the only great defensive fighter he faced was Benitez, and it was a tough night for Hearns, Floyd is an elusive short small target for Hearns with very fast footwork and Excellent stamina, now Im not saying who would've won cuz U don't know, but it would've been a very close fight.

its funny to see these guys post as if Floyd would just be flat out dominated by these guys. I don't see any fighter just flat out dominating Floyd! hes special in that ring. just like if he was to beat these guys it would not be easy for him

It was a different time, Hagler,Hearns,SRL were all naturally bigger than Floyd. They dont have fighters like these nowadays. Think about it, Floyd beat guys who started there carreers 140 and below, they were guys who got gained weight with tiime and moved up in weight. When he fought DLH, DLH was coming down from 160..lol..way passed him prime and DLH started his carreer at 130lbs. And DLH gave him a decent fight. Shane another one who started at LW. Floyd is naturally a smaller guy, it my opinion its not fair to compare him in fantasy matchups againts guys like Hagler or SRL. Now if you tell me Duran then thats a fair fight and would of been a awesome fight to watch. Any guy who is naturally his size. Trust me for those who think he would have a chance againts a prime Hearns..has to be dillusional.

Pretty much. I'll never understand why people act like he started at 147.

because they know at 130-140 that their would only be a handful of fighters that would be 50/50 or favored over him

Mayweather has been campaigning at welterweight for years. He is currently the best welter on the planet AND the best jmw on the planet.

A decent part of his legacy is comprised of welterweight fights.

We can and will compare him to other welters, including the fab 3.

Mayweather doesn't need protection, he compares real well.

I agree with Ahmed_Ismail, in that nobody blows anyone out..... most of those matchups are pickem fights with little advantages going either way, mostly because of styles.

I'm not saying that 147 is Mayweathers best weight, just that he fought there for long enough during his prime to justify including him.
