When there are two true blood and guts warriors in the ring, who both believe in their greatness and who absolutely refuse to show doubt or fear, and refuse to leave anything in the ring, then a toe-to-toe battle is unavoidable.

    Case in point:

      A) they wanna see him lose
      B) they never boxed or did combat sports period

Virgil hunter said it best, " how would you teach your son to box?"

        Case in point:

Styles make fights....Duran n hagler are warriors but their fight was tactical

        Barrera vs hamed

So many have been that way

Leonard was tough but knew better than to stand toe to toe with hagler

Not all warriors end up in barn burners with other "warriors"

          Floyd groupies lol...

A fight represents the most primal aspect of man. It's a representation of his strength and absolute denial of defeat.

Floyd has never inspired anyone. Floyd has never given anyone strength or courage who was struggling with his own fights in his darkest hours. Floyd does not represent what a bloodsport is about.

I love to fight but I damn sure don't like getting hit

You win fights by hitting the most n getting hit less....I'm not training my son to be a brain dead tough guy with millions of fans but no money, or faculties

Boxing is hit n not get hit....like my old trainer merhav mohar told me, if it works keep doing it until they can stop it or counter it....its his opponents fault they can't beat a fighter with an "amateurish" style
True about prize fighters, they fight for the money, however, many fight for the thrill of the fight. There's only a handful of ATG's that you can say only fought for the money (Floyd is one of them), the rest loved fighting and the money came later.

If you want your son to not be a brain dead tough guy, maybe focusing on education and a more reliable source of income like software engineering. For kids martial arts should be about focusing their energy on a discipline, not feeding their families one day.

Boxing is the balance of hitting without getting hit, not avoid being hit at all cost. Problem is Floyd plays for points, not hits (if you don't know the difference GTFOH). Yes his opponents need to find ways be Floyd isn't ******, he stacks the decks against his opponents in every way he can, he admits it himself. Every opponent has an uphill battle even before the fight starts.

What gets a fighter up for a fight....to be the best and also that check

                Anyway
Thats why you educate your students on the risk they take and do what need to to teach them how to defend their selves....you don't go in trying to kill someone....you go in to win...not to permanently hurt someone or get hurt

Basically....defense is just as important as offense....boxing is no different than other sports....defense wins championships

Anybody can throw a million punches or hit a lot of shots.... In every sport anyone who was the best had a good defense

Their has not been many successful " warriors in boxing "

You are not gonna be successful in boxing with defensive skills

Even Marciano n LaMotta who are Pegged brawlers had underrated defensive skills... Rolling shots, slipping closing distance

Flat out standing and trading is flat out ****** especially if you got certain attributes

Speed, height, reach, etc....nobody going 48-0 in boxing and not land punches...plus if he punches didn't hurt, he'd have got ran over long before now in his 4th n 5 weight classes

So he stacks the deck because he doesn't imitate a heavy bag

If you can't stop it, if its so weak yadda yadda

                  Why can't they stop it

No lie I got frustrated some fights because I wanted him to through more combos but that also lies on the opponent....missing getting hit clean when you're trying to make moves is Floyd's fault?

Wladimir fights safety first as well.

we have no problem with your defense, protect yourself, but it's your offense people complain about.
