and judging from their previous two fights prior to May 2nd, floyd is the one that actually looked more shot and past his prime. maidana made him look old and beatable. against rios, bradley and algieri pacquiao looked like a super hero. so in fact floyd was the "shot" fighter in the ring on may 2nd.
    March 9, 2015:

Freddie Roach believes Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s "legs are a little shot" and that Manny Pacquiao is better equipped to win their much-anticipated fight on May 2.

Roach, who recently returned to his Wild Card gym to train Pacquiao after watching Zou Shiming lose to Amnat Ruenroeng on Saturday, continues to speak openly about the upcoming bout. He told Reuters (h/t Boxing Scene) that Pacquiao has reached the latter stage of his career in better shape:

"I don’t think he’s (Mayweather) passed it at all. I think his legs are a little shot, a little worn, and I think Pacquiao has better legs at this moment at this time. I think maybe Pacquiao is a little faster and hits a little bit harder. Mayweather has a little fragile hands and is not the biggest puncher in the world. But I think we have more assets to win the fight I feel."

and lets get another thing straight, had mayweather after a loss, cried about an injury ..guess what.. NOBODY would buy it and just call him a sore loser. . those are the facts, period.. haters carry on.
The fight was what It was regardless of who got the decision, period. It didn't live up to expectations and was completely over priced for the effort that was put forth by both guys. Two pound for pound fighters that talked a big game and when It came time to deliver, they fought scared.

That's fine but you're consistent. Most people didn't "pay to see a fight" but paid to see Floyd lose to the guy they elected as his destroyer. They knew about Floyd's style and felt that Pac's speed, angles and high volume would be the blueprint to defeat Mayweather.

Well, that wasn't the case. Better luck next time.

So Pacquiao who was knocked out cold for over two minutes by Marquez was the fresher fighter coming Into the Mayweather fight?

Manny needs to retire if he is 5 years past his prime. Not worth paying to see any of his fights in the future.

History is written by the winners...

That wasn't the case at all. They forgot to inform Floyd to stop being a defensive fighter and let manny get to him.

IF. If Floyd would not have ......
if manny could have landed more.... If Floyd did not.... Move.... Potshot..... Hold.... Block ..... And if manny could have.... Would have..... Should have.....

Then manny would win. But it didn't happen.

Yes they are both past their expiry date. I agree both should retire. History though are written by the legacy you leave in the ring..

Floyd's legacy is full of holes. Every time you go on a debate about him he gets hammered. Real ATGs are praised. He can't go near top 20 with all the ducking, running, hugging and cherry picking that he does.. I's just how it is.. No ones fault really. No one to blame but him.

Floyd could have, but he chose the safe route. Cherry picking isn't what ATGs are about. 5 years too late, and to top it off an injured Pac gave all he can handle and then some.. and to most even won it..

What matters is what you leave in the ring.

And what Floyd left in that uneventful night is a father who saw his son fight like a vagina. No amount of record will change that perception, and after all that bore-fest, the world and the mgm grand booed with me..

Floyd isn't even top 30. I agree. TBE isn't at all. Manny wouldn't have gotten his 8 divisions back in the day, there were less weight classes and sactioning bodies when Ray Robinson fought. Many also doesn't crack top 20. Less weight classes back when fighters just fought.
