The WBA states that the Buglioni-Chudinov winner must face Felix Sturm within a maximum period of nine months.

WTF?! Chudinov is making a voluntary defense of his interim/regular WBA title but has the gestation period of a human being to defend against Sturm, a guy who's never won at SMW and hasn't won since he beat Darren Barker 2 years ago? Meantime the WBA super champion - Ward hasn't defended that title in 2 years?

It almost as if the WBA is trying to add credibility to tonight's Mares/Santa Cruz fight for the WBA Super 126lb title. Considering Cruz is the WBC 122lb champ and Mares is ranked #2 in the WBA with Cuellar as their regular champion.

What an embarrassing organization... Gilberto Mendoza is a corrupt pos.

I didn't even realize Broner/Allakhverdiev is for the vacant WBA 140lb title. Allakhverdiev hasn't fought in 18months and Benavidez is currently the interim champ. Mendoza's on a roll!

Ward needs to fight a decent fighter that he can also showcase his skills against. I just don't know who that is.

I agree. I just don't understand people saying he is boring. He's a masterful boxer. If someone is bored by him its likely because they don't understand boxing enough to know what they are seeing. It seems that many of the Ward haters are just GGG/Kovelev fans who are threatened by him.

Look at GGG's joke record of bums

          Nob Irshida

Ward was 173lbs nearly three weeks to the Paul Smith fight.

the hate is getting pretty blatant

Both the WBA and wba titles at 140 are vacant. Looking down the WBA ratings, what four junior welterweights deserve the opportunity more than Broner (WBA #2) and Allahkverdiev(WBA #5)?

Benevidez(WBA #1) vs Di Rocco(WBA #$) for the vacant WBA championship
                    Broner-Allahkverdiev for the wba championship

Amir Imam (WBA #3, WBC #3) has the choice to fight Postol-Matthysse winner for the WBC 140 belt or fighting for one of the WBA belts.

Not gonna defend the WBA chasing the Mares-Santa Cruz sanctioning fee (or compelling Chudinov-Buglioni winner to fight Felix Sturm, and admitted name fighter in Germant but also a guy who is 0-2-1 in his last three fights), but the 140 titles situation actually makes sense, biases put aside.

No I would love to see Ward-Kovalev too. But as a boxing fan, I want BOTH Ward-Golovkin AND Ward-Kovalev. Anybody that doesn't is a scared b*tchass fanboy. And most certainly a fan of Golovkin's cowardly ass.

Who wouldn't want to see Ward-Golovkin AND Ward-Kovalev? A scared coward, that's who. Fall back old man.
