you really dont need a link, if you look at most HBO championship boxing purses they never exceed 2 million at the most unless its an exclusive fighter (ward/canelo) other than that everyone else is getting around 800k-1mill unless its a massive mismatch GGG 1.5 mill vs monroe 100k.

you said go back to the original deal, that was the original deal, HBO only offered 1 mill for the fight, stevenson got a better offer on his own, asked HBO to match it, they chose not, killed the fight, duva sued haymon to stop the hopkins fight and only dropped her lawsuit when hopkins fought her guy instead. and this was when HBO put up a 3mill purse for ward vs rodriguez and rodriguez was a haymon fighter working with hbo during the cold war. if they were willing to let ward fight a haymon fighter and pay him 800k (1 mill if hed not missed weight) why werent they so eager to match what was showtime was willing to, HBO has done it in the past when arum took pacquiao off HBO and went to showtime for the mosley fight, after that HBO went right back to giving arum what he wanted. oscar just did the same with showtime and hbo for canelo, thats why canelo is a exclusive HBO fighter, and canelo-lara only happened bc lara ruined canelos post fight conference after angulo and canelo forced oscar to make the fight.

you can just look at HBO championship boxing purses from the last couple of years,most of the purses hardly exceed 1.5-2 million and thats at best. only exclusive fighters tend to make more and its usually on USA ppv, even on canadian ppv that fight back then wasnt gonna make what itll make now. and the kovalev fight purses since then support it. 500k for hopkins 3.5 mill for pascal and 750k for mohammedi. and HBO didnt cover the 6mill kovalev pascall purse on their own, the bulk came off the canadian market and tv rights from there.

Stevenson clearly ducked the fight in the past and I doubt he wants it now, but Duva's whole handling of the WBC situation has given him some room to make comments like this. Since the cancelled purse bid there has been no movement and until one side makes a realistic offer to the other all of the comments being put out by either side are just empty talk. Kovalev is the real champion of the division but his team are less than perfect.

its not made up when you can actually look at all the HBO championship boxing purses and notice the trend with their main event fights, they barely pay those fighters over a 2 million purse collectively, even in 2015 rios and alvarado split 1.5mill, ggg monroe split the same and kovalev mohammedi split the same.

He ducked Kovalev. He didn't get the Kovalev fight. He fought a bum for more money. That's great for him. Duva never had a solid case, she had emails. Nothing signed. She dropped it yes, because she got what she wanted, a big fight for her fighter. The rodriguez fight happened because HBO rejected all the scrubs Ward was suggesting to them. and what does Arum have to do with Haymon? Two completely different situations. Same for Canelo and HBO, not the same. And Oscar didn't want the Lara fight. It happened because Canelo has balls unlike Adonis and made Oscar make the fight.
