First off - Kovalev has a fight in Russia this year so that makes him unavailable. Second off - Ward/Kovavev right now likely wouldn't bring enough money for Andre. So lets move on to what's possible for Andre's next fight - Jean Pascal. Pascal/Ward would give Andre a test at 175, but more than that it would be Andre's first real fight since Carl Froch in December 2011!!!

And yet here you are crucifying a guy for asking for a catchweight in a division he's never fought in. Do you not see how ****** that is of you?
You mean the guy that moved up 5 divisions in his career? Golovkin refuses to move up one, even though he said he'll fight anyone in that division and has been name dropping the guy.

ward's a complete joke. been saying it for years now. he only wants that easy money. he doesn't want to fight anyone good even in his own division yet his insane defenders keep bashing ggg for not moving up. he's tried to fight caleb truax, periban, dmitri sartison, zac dunn, paul smith. stop defending this clown who just wants his 2 million dollar guarantee per fight.

Why should he move up at all? He became a pro late. He is 33 and fully grown. He doesn't kill himself to make weight. Once he gets all the belts he will probably have to move up to get big fights people would pay for. If Andre is still around at 68 it will probably happen.

Answer the question, did he or did he not ask for a catchweight in a division he already held a title in? Floyd also started his career at 19 do you expect a 5'7 man to weigh 130-140 pounds forever? I don't know why you fanatics have a hard time accepting that it's possible, and natural, for a 5'7man to weight 150+ plus pounds, it's quite normal in life and sports. Enjoy your delusions.

Because he's been claiming he'll fight anyone in the division above and has been name dropping Ward for years, that's why. He was also willing to fight others at 168.

Why? According to the polls here Kovalev is a lot more competitive.

But Ggg vs Canelo is a far bigger fight than any of these, a massive ppv unification. If Ggg moves up first, big possibility we'll never see it
