11 pages in.....nobody can list fighters with a better resume in the last 5 years.....
I can understand people holding floyd to a higher standard because he's that good....yet when you say floyds resume isnt impressive but you cant name one fighter who has a legitimately better resume in only five years time out of all these weight classes then something is wrong. Like really, think about that for a min.....
one can only surmise:
you think boxing has been in a bad state, even though we have fighters like floyd, pac, cotto, klitchko, ggg, ward, gonzales, thurman, kovalev, rigo etc.
or, and i dont like using this overused word, your a hater and no matter who floyd fought up until now, he could never reach your expectations. I believe theres always room for criticism of any great fighters resume. But, If your seriously arguing that floyds resume would be better with margarito on it...then idk what to tell you.
or look at it this way. Pac is generally considered #2 or #3 of this era before or behind hopkins. If the op was asking this question and floyd had pacs resume of the last five years what would you say? Seriously?

Outclassing Barrera.
Mayweather's resume would still be critiqued like Pacquiao's, but it would have more clear points. Wins over prime Bradley, Barrera, & Cotto

If a boxing fan isn't impressed by Mayweather's accomplishments short or long term I'd say they are more a casual fan than a hardcore fan or just aren't capable of rational thought with Mayweather or other cats.

Floyd has a pretty decent resume and has been a champ for a long, long time.
He "might" even crack a top 20 all time p4p.. Would be really difficult to argue that he is top 10, let alone the best ever.
I respect the guy as a fighter and a champ, but when we look back and examine fighters, it will be very difficult to look upon him as anything more than a superb defensive fighter with a slightly above average resume. Unfortunately he won't be remembered by fight fans in the way others will be.
Let's not talk about 5 year runs, let's look at his entire body of work and compare it to other greats. When you do that, there is much to be desired.

like i said i completely understand critiquing a great fighter. Wanting more from a fighter in an opinion is cool to an extent. but acting like his resume is boo boo when nobody can name one better is crazy to me

You really think it would have more clear points?

Nobody else but Pacquiao compares and he's lost twice. (IMO he beat Floyd & Bradley, but let's say 2).
You know what I'm too tired to compare lol
Have a good one :P
This thread gonna go on TOO long

Prime abregu
Prime Devon who beat Maidana
Pre ktfo pac
Post ktfo marquez
Providnikov
Vargas
I'd argue that's a better resume. When you consider Fernando Vargas fought Ike quarter, winky, and Tito in the span of 12 months, it's easy to see how watered down this era is. Certainly not Floyd's fault, it's actually sad that his resume is arguably the best of the last five years.

Get a clue and learn what the word ironic means.
