Nah it'll still be intact. Hatton and tarver both kept their lineage when dropping their world titles.

Lineal titles are very much in the eye of the beholder. Tarver's first reign at light heavy is a prime example. A lotta people, especially across the pond, will tell you Tarver was never the lineal champ. And the Zsolt Eredi was the true lineal champ when Tarver sparked out RJ.

Why would he want 156 when hes been fighting at 155 for the past 3 fights? That is all to save face and have an excuse after the fight to say he had trouble cutting down to 155.

Right, and that's why so many people want to see GGG vs Canelo/Cotto.

I said this the moment Martinez vs Cotto got made, that if Cotto wins the MW division could get really screwy, with catchweight fights between junior middleweights for the lineage while the best middleweights are left on the outside.

I've tried explaining this before but I guess most of NSB doesn't care but the middleweight division is one of the few divisions where we can trace the lineage back over a decade. Hopkins-Taylor-Pavlik-Martinez-Cotto. It would be a damn shame if it's broken and the #1 MW never gets a crack at it. Lots of history in one of boxings most decorated divisions.

Triple G is the champ at 160..no need to move up and fight Ward if he doesn't want to..

You do remember GGG and his camp called out Ward and other 168lbs trying to make a name for themselves? When Ward answered the call, he changed his mind and mentioned catch weight.
