I don't get the logic of Ward & Sanchez.

If you beat Kovalev you enhance your legacy and standing, same goes for beating Ward.

You can't duck a fighter in the weight class above (unless he has agreed to meet you at your weight class).

Mentioning Mayweather is great publicity even if Floyd will never take the fight.

There is a lot of hate...mostly a weird kind of jealousy of Golovkin that I don't understand.

There's nothing wrong with talking about a Ward fight. It would be a great fight. But lets be honest. Golovkin most likely has canelo or cotto next per the WBC, and he would be an idiot to chase a Ward fight over that huge fight that will turn him from a star into a superstar.

I was just trying to say that Golovkin's team is just like every other team in boxing with contradictions...but for some reason he is the only one people want to hold accountable for past statements. Everyone in boxing is a liar.

i completely agree with abel sanchez. ward would be a huge win and where to go from there??? almost everything else at 168 is a step down.

GGG needs to clean out 160 AND THEN move up to 168 to clean out that division. after 168 there is 175 and he can try and clean out that division. it's all about pacing urself. GGG can easily fight into his 40s so he should be fine.

maybe ward should focus on getting his career back together after being out of the fight game for almost 3 years.

Another thread from another scared Ward fan. Face it, GGG is heading into big things while Ward.....well, what does Ward have planned on the horizon, aside from not committing to either 168 nor 175?

I think there is one legitimate barrier, the fight needs to be on PPV to satisfy both fighter's financial demands. Golovkin-Lemieux needs to sell well for HBO to invest in Golovkin-Ward (where again both fighters will request at least $2m).

I see GGG fighting Ward eventually.

Clearly Team GGG doesn't want this fight right now. Ward being the naturally larger of the two in addition to being an excellent fighter is almost surely one of the reasons why and the other is that they don't want to lose the Cotto/Canelo fight. Let's not underestimate the effect of the latter, if GGG continues his KO streak over Lemieux and Canelo/Cotto produces a clear winner - GGG vs the winner becomes a very big fight both for legacy and for $$$.
If Ward continues his comeback and looks good as we all fully expect will happen, GGG/Ward can always take place later (either 2nd half of 2016 if GGG wins his next two and probably even later than that if GGG loses) and is also a big fight. The possibility that Ward may move up to 175 can have implications on when/if this occurs but we'll have to wait and see on that.

I don't get what the big deal is? How are GGG and his team doing anything other than what they are supposed to be doing, unifying one's current division?

Ward isn't doing anything except talk about how he would move down to 160 for Floyd but not for GGG and how he could beat Klitschko yet won't call himself a Light Heavy Weight and fight Kovalev even though he just fought at 172.

Some posters are actually holding Ward to a different standard and calling out GGG for it. It would probably be much easier to admit the real reasons why you don't like him instead of skirting around it with baseless complaints that Ward, Mayweather and countless other boxers are also guilty of.

I don't think its jealousy, It's that GGG has been marketed a certain way and now that there is someone available that refutes that and would be tough to beat, GGG wants no part of him.

GGG did this to himself, nothing is being done to him.

Why would ward fans be scared of gg? Lol he beats him pretty clearly and ward and kovalev team have already had talks about a fight next year
