Originally posted by The Big Dunn View PostThey make equal sense, but GGG/ward gives GGG the quality opponent he and his fans complain are never willing to fight GGG. The difference is GGG/Kov fans think Kov can beat Ward where they do not think GGG can, so they argue for ward/kov.
GGG's 164lb offer to Ward further illustrates that he doesn't feel confident that he can beat Ward, else he'd fight at 168 same as he wanted to fight Chavez jr. and Froch.
There is no indication Ward can't make 168. All he did was sign his comeback fight for 172. So you are speculating in a way that conveniently supports your position.
GGG fans appear afraid of a GGG/Ward fight because it would be the 1st time GGG fought an elite fighter, one with great skill, speed, and would come in slightly heavier than GGG on fight night, attributes he hasn't had to deal with as a pro.
I get it would be a tough fight, but wouldn't seeing GGG overcome adversity and dealing with these attributes, win or lose, be better than another easy KO, especially if you are a boxing fan and not a casual fan watching boxing?
He has practically had everything his own way, fought in a super six tournament and never once traveled away, got away with constant clinching and headbutting to beat Kessler (easily could have been DQed) and he knocks back a career high payday to fight Carl Froch in England...
This is a man who has been spoon fed his entire career, don't talk about adversities one comes from a VERY poor country, who had to work likely twice as hard as Ward to get to where he is the other is from Oakland where has had EVERYTHING his own way and now is picking up big pay cheques off Jay Z for fighting flat footed bums in his hometown, impressive right?

Golovkin has been building his name with the "most feared man from 154-168" and "I'll fight anyone from 154-168" but when it came to it he chickened out and pulled the risk/reward excuse.

I'm surprised that clown didn't commit hari-kari after the scorecards were read May 2nd. Hell, dude was probably head cheerleader when Pac was doing his miracle rehab butterfly stokes in the ocean.

weight can be more important that dollars bc u trying to bring a dead man intot he ring...just like your other 33 fights..

Of course Floyd had gone up and fought the best in the heavier division multiple times. GGG has not done this once. So it seems somewhat ignorant to leave this out.
Cotto also is a JMW that went up and won the title against the best in the division. So while he did fight Gaele at a CW, same as Canelo/Floyd, did so in part for competitive reasons, you show incredible bias and ignorance by criticizing them for it.
The fact is GGG was willing to go to 168 for chavez and froch but not ward. Floyd and cotto have gone up w/out CW's-something GGG hasn't done.
