ya that just means there will be no cotto ggg fight if cotto wins same with canelo no chance in hell canelo fights ggg without a catch weight both fighters will give up the belt otherwise.

I don't see the WBC backing away from this because this time I'm certain K2 has got this in writing from the WBC (which is why K2/GGG allowed for this fight to even happen for the belt). If it's in writing, the WBC isn't going to want to get sued (they've lost millions of dollars before for stuff like this and they're not going to want that to happen again).
Cotto/Canelo can certainly try to negotiate a catch weight, and that's fine. If Golovkin doesn't agree, then Cotto/Canelo would be forced to go to a purse bid where it would be the full 160 pounds.

I almost thought the Cotto fans were done hiding behind Andre Ward when it came to GGG. When it comes to Cotto defending his paper MW title(murray beat martinez) against a MW GGG, Ward cant protect him. A GGGCotto bout is irrelevant at this point, Canelo beats Cotto handily in a few weeks time.

It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
It'll be so worth it

Doesn't matter though, Gennady sends both to the canvas with broken ribs ala Macklin.

Sounds to me like they don't want GGG to get shafted on the split the way Canelo was. I wouldn't be surprised if GGG vs Cotto/Canelo winner ended up being around 157 or 158.

Where in my post does GGG accepting or not accepting a CW have to do with the outcome? I'm just saying he'd be a moron to pass up a Cotto fight it's at 159 instead of 160. He would have to be a complete moron, truly. Title or not that win puts him into a different level of star power.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 08-19-2015, 07:55 PM.
