He has been begging Cotto and any popular or high quality opponent from 154 to 168 (except Andre Ward) for a fight for the last year. He and his team will take any bone that Cotto chooses to throw at them, if Cotto chooses to fight him.

In spite of what the WBC says now, Cotto will be fighting Floyd Mayweather next May for Cotto's WBC title. Golovkin will be put off for a third time.
things have changed. Now is GGG a big name with negotiation power.Cotto has no choice but to agree to 160

And I'd even say with Canelo's catchweighing lately that even he's possibly out with this news with his 155 fights lately. GGG would be smart to just fight at whatever weight Canelo or Cotto was cool fighting him at cuz the upside for him is great & I think most would favor GGG in either fight.

Maybe GGG sells 1M PPV's though & he can call his shot & Cotto or Canelo will bend cuz the money will be worth it, but if the GGG vs Lemieux PPV does 400k or less I think he might have just wasted his time.
The GGG/Lemieux fight won't break 100,000. In fact, I would be shocked if it sells 50,000 PPVs.

The WBC is the same organization that allowed JCC Jr. to avoid fighting his mandatory, Martinez, for two years. They are the same organization that never forced Canelo Alvarez to fight a mandatory opponent in the three years that he held their 154-pound belt. The Alvarez fight will be the second fight Cotto has had after he was mandated to fight Golovkin.

Do you really think that the WBC will suddenly grow hair on its ba..s and strip Cotto for not fighting GGG next when they have a chance to make a lot more money and get a lot more exposure with Mayweather/Cotto II?

Your previous comment and this one tells anyone with any sense that you know as little about boxing as you know about procreation. Al Haymon works for Mayweather, not the other way around. If Mayweather wants to fight Cotto next, he will fight Cotto next.

I have been watching boxing for 30 years. I know exactly how the WBC operates. You sound like a 14 year-old who is struggling with puberty.

NO cotto is with jay z.al gaymon hates jay z because he got sued years ago in the music business they will never work together.he forced qullin to turn down a1.4 million fight and gave up the belt which would have been a career high pay day for him all because jay z would have been promoting that fight.

GGG knows that Cotto isn't winning the fight against Canelo anyhow.
