It is similar to a Mayweather fight that sells 13K of 16K tickets overall in the first hour of availability but struggles to sell the other 3K over the next 2 months. It's ticket brokers that buy those 13K right off the bat and try to pawn them off at a profit through secondary ticket markets.

Either way I hope Golovkin sells out the place, it will increase his bargaining power vs. Ward. Maybe Ward will give him 35% of the purse now.
the way things stand right now, Ward would be lucky to get his picture on the poster.......

Well this shouldn't be PPV. But 300K would certify Golovkin as a PPV player. 300K vs. Lemieux would be legitimate. Gotta get there though.

It's a PPV because it couldn't happen without it. With Mosley-Mayorga II on PPV, the criticism should fall elsewhere. But I understand why that fight isn't on PPV. At least it doesn't take TV time from a more worthwhile fight.

As to the rest, I totally agree about the PPV expectations.

Well damn, guess ima be seeing a lot of 1Ioata seat fillers there who got those 7k seats for free.... well maybe 12k since they gotta buy more tickets to give out for free

After a 16-month layoff, Ward was 173.5 with three weeks to go to the Paul Smith. Ward's walk-around weight is literally high 170s/low 180s. gtfoh

Doubt that Kovalev is even under 190lbs with three weeks to a fight.

Yes, and they buy them because there is a demand. What part about that don't you get, ******? Let's see how fast ticket brokers scoop up Ward tickets.

Cotto has built himself into a star attraction in New York City, so yeah, New Yorkers are going to rally behind a fighter based in NYC before they rally behind a Soviet-system Kazakh who has spent the last three years trying to convince viewers that he's Mexican.
