Relax Scott. It remains to be seen how many of these tickets are being purchased by ticket brokers and how many are being purchased by actual fans who will attend the fight.

It is similar to a Mayweather fight that sells 13K of 16K tickets overall in the first hour of availability but struggles to sell the other 3K over the next 2 months. It's ticket brokers that buy those 13K right off the bat and try to pawn them off at a profit through secondary ticket markets.

Either way I hope Golovkin sells out the place, it will increase his bargaining power vs. Ward. Maybe Ward will give him 35% of the purse now.

Well this shouldn't be PPV. But 300K would certify Golovkin as a PPV player. 300K vs. Lemieux would be legitimate. Gotta get there though.

It's a PPV because it couldn't happen without it. With Mosley-Mayorga II on PPV, the criticism should fall elsewhere. But I understand why that fight isn't on PPV. At least it doesn't take TV time from a more worthwhile fight.

As to the rest, I totally agree about the PPV expectations.

Over 15,000 tickets sold; yet only 8,000 people will actually show up to see the fight! That means that 7,000 people will choose to buy a ticket and not show up. Wow! Also, that 8,000 will be more than the number of people who will purchase the PPV.
