This is the problem with how people view p4p lists. They were never intended to be based off resumes. They were simply about measuring a fighters skill level if you could magicly make them bigger/smaller. IE how would their style do in a different division, namely the heavyweight division. Thats why I shake my head at people that get all bent out of shape over a GGG, Loma or TC being on a p4p list. These guys obviously have a very high skill level and would do well in any division in boxing imo.

Also have to laugh at the people who think GGG is basic. This is a guy with superb footwork, timing, shifting, power, ring IQ and chin. He is'nt some face first brawler. Hell 90% of the reason I want to see him fight Ward is because Ward, stylisticly is GGG's worst nightmare if he can't adjust.

Today, Roman Gonzalez is above him. New comers like Crawford, Thurman, DSG (even I don't think these last 2 are great), Spence Jr or J-Rock Williams will be knocking the door to be the next top dog. All of these (except Roman) are fluent in English, young (GGG is 32 already), with better competition in their record (Not entirely GGG fault, WW is a weak division) and I strongly believe once GGG moves up in weight, he'll be fighting ppl his own size and wont be able to run over smaller limited fighters as he has been doing!!! So, I just don't think so Abel!!!
What is this crap, seems to be a new talking point among the haters. Not a lick of evidence

He admitted that AFTER he beats pepe lemu, he will face tougher comp...admitting that he faces cans now and in the past.....lol. How is he snatching P4P from a retired fighter? lol, keep trying like everyone else to make money off of Floyd's name. "chocolatetito" or however you pronounce it is the heir apparent to Floyd or Ward. Because Ward is trying to make a fight with gigi, and he's in talks with kovalev's people to make a fight. He will beat both and be #1 P4P. The saltines are gonna be mad again. lol

I was speaking more in terms of fights that would establish a new P4P #1. Inoue has done well in a short time. But he hadn't reached the status of a Rigondeaux or Gonzalez.

As for the fight I'd "rather see." I guess I'm a bit of a rarity when it comes to WHY I wanna see certain fights. And entertainment value rates very low for me. I'd rather watch two bonafide elite fighters in a "boring" fight. Than I would see two B or C level fighters in an action packed war.

IMO, Gonzalez's non-stop offesnive assault matched up against Rigo's expert defense and counterpunching is a style contrast that's fascinating to me. And probably as good as it gets in a boxing ring. It would be a primed Floyd against a primed Manny. But it would be fought at a faster pace and maybe an even higher skill level.

A good start would be GGG moving up to 168 and fighting DeGale.

Kovolev would have it before Golovkin... Dude has dominant wins over hopkins and pascal.. Trumps anything Golovkin has done

Roman Gonzalez is the man I think that will earn it, and deserves it most. Kovalev is getting up there. I think the biggest factor to determine #1 will be if Ward fights Kovalev or not. If not, neither will be #1.

Rigondeaux doesn't, and will continue to decline (and be removed) from the P4P rankings because the dude hasn't fought in like 9-10 months, and I don't see him fight the remainder of this year.

Lomachenko is still a potential talent. Very skilled so we'll just have to wait and see.

Well after he beats David and Canelo he will be #1 or 2 P4P. And people will cry about it, with talk of Ward this and Ward that. When is Ward going to fight someone good? Such hypocrisy here. What you did 4 years ago has nothing to do with how you are rated TODAY. It's not a list of the best resumes. It's not just who GGG beats, it's that he is destroying them.

Possibly, but that would require being able to take GGG's power. GGG is going to get his pound of flesh.
