  • Comments Thread For: Cotto, Canelo Both More Comfortable at Super Welter

As it turns out, the World middleweight championship will be contested by the best two super welterweights in the world.

Miguel Cotto and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez are locked in for what is already being regarded as the most anticipated event on the remainder of the 2015 boxing schedule. The two will collide on November 21 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, with HBO Pay-Per-View to distribute.

GGG might want to start shifting his focus elsewhere for his next big fight. The both of them are pretty much saying he can have the belt once they are through with it.

So if Floyd vacates the SWW title after his next fight, why does Cotto not drop the MW title and they fight for the title they are actually in the division of? Makes no sense at all for them to be fighting for the MW title when neither of them have any intention of fighting as a true middleweight for the foreseeable future, if ever. The entire thing is a farce.

The winner can make a huge pay day against Floyd for #50. That looks like what's on deck.

              *sighs*

Anyone can win the middleweight title as long as they are not over 160 pounds...what's so hard to decipher from that?

              Geez smh

That headline and the article it relates to do make no sense. What kind of clickbait journalism is that? Where did Canelo even say anything about being comfortable at superwelter when he cant make it anymore in several fights?

The whole telephone conference can be listened to on several websites and at no time Canelo even mentioned the weight or a preferred weight class.

What's the deal with Cotto is universally known long before the fight, that he is holding a belt hostage at a weight where he doesnt belong, he said it after the Geale fight already, but Canelo didnt even give his opinion on the matter. All we know is that Canelo wanted to have this fight at 156 and not 155 but he gave in to make this fight happen.

How does Mr. Donovan say Canelo is more comfortable at welter?

What kind of "journalism" is this?

                    sorry not buying it

canelo cant make 154 healthy anymore or he wouldn't bother with 155 lbs bull****

cotto jumped divisions to vulture martinez and geale.. he can still make 154 but he just wasn't nearly good enough to reign there and took a shortcut to the big fights
