Not many fighters in Canelo position would ever have agreed to this, makes you wonder why so many people on here seem to have a hard-on for disliking him lol.

$6.5 million is a hell of a lot of cash though, Canelo If he keeps on going at the pace he is and with beating Cotto he really could become one of the biggest PPV names for the sport which is crazy considering how damn young he is.

$6.5mill is a lot, but this fight for Alvarez was worth so much more. This gives me doubts about a rematch now. After Alvarez beats Cotto, no way will he accept that ratio again unless it's in his favor. And I doubt Cotto agrees to a rematch for less than he made the first time around.

Either way kudos to Alvarez for making it happen and giving in to the diva. He might as well go out and destroy Cotto rather than worry about preserving him for a 2nd fight.

Oscar de la hoya screwed him over. Oscar focus was on a damn black ring and a rematch clause that he still didnt get either. He ended up paying Cotto his % of the casino money just so Cotto agreed to leave the comfort of New York.
