Obviously. That guy would get starched by a journeyman in a boxing ring. Since when is mma a "real fight"... isn't there rules in that sport.
Exactly. UFC and MMA in general have rules, and that there are rules makes MMA far, far, different from a "street" fight. Of course Dana White and MMA participants in general want to ignore this fact as they want the average person to see MMA as the complete fighting package so truth be damned. It's as if nobody is suppose to remember Don Frye getting knocked out in a hotel lobby by Sonny Westbrook. "As most of you know Don Frye got knocked out on two separate occasions by Sonny, a 51 year old boxing coach. Most reports said that Frye was sucker punched. This video clearly shows that sucker punch excuse was a lie, both were throwing down until there was only one of them left standing." Believe it or not, this was from a Sherdog post in November of 2007.
He cuts insane amount of weight doe. I read he walks around at high 160's to 170 something. He's huge for that weight class.
MMA fighters cut wild weight bro. Most guys that fight at 155, pounds walk around at like 185 pounds. They even cut like 15 pounds two days before the fight. It's crazy.
MMA fans refer to it as "real fighting" when there are rules. Its not "real, REAL" fighting.
People like to play semantics with this sorta ****. The reality is you can't get "real fighting" sanctioned....yet. Once you can something will come along & fill a hole MMA has missed out on like MMA has filled a hole Boxing has missed out on. I believe we are some primitive mfers & we'd LOVE to see "real fighting", but until then MMA is the closest fans of "real fighting" can get to it.
I say this as a person who's first love sportswise is boxing & who doesn't understand why anyone would wanna watch grown men run around carrying, hitting, kicking or throwing balls into goals. Pretty much any sport involving a ball is ****** to me. I also hold a appreciation of all forms of physical combat from the less violet like Sumo Wrestling, which has a ranking system boxing should hijack & has a great history like boxing that if you can get over the giant men in diapers is a good read to boxing & MMA where guys can have their life ended or destroyed on a bad night.
You and I are in complete agreement. My earlier comment was in direct reply to diarraisagod who said that RR beats Floyd in MMA. I replied that if you think that RR beats Floyd in an MMA fight - You ( diarraisagod) must not have a clue. RR would not have a chance against Floyd. Period.
Lol yeah.... right....
Floyd is well known for his excellent takedown defence, lol.
She wouldn't strike with him, but despite being weaker her takedown skills are a very high level and Mayweather's are non existent. She'd take him down and have him wrapped in an arm bar in seconds.
I suggest you go and watch some older MMA, the Gracie's fighting some of the monsters of the past. They didn't need strength because they had the skills in an area the big guys didn't know how to compete. Just like a Floyd vs Ronda MMA contest would be.
It's not a hating Floyd thing, any boxer with no jujitsu or wrestling experience gets wrecked by anybody remotely decent at MMA.
You see it all the time at local shows where an experienced striker tries MMA, then gets taken down and then demolished because they don't know what to do. But it's happened in the UFC too Couture vs Toney
