I suggest you go and watch some older MMA, the Gracie's fighting some of the monsters of the past. They didn't need strength because they had the skills in an area the big guys didn't know how to compete. Just like a Floyd vs Ronda MMA contest would be.

It's not a hating Floyd thing, any boxer with no jujitsu or wrestling experience gets wrecked by anybody remotely decent at MMA.

You see it all the time at local shows where an experienced striker tries MMA, then gets taken down and then demolished because they don't know what to do. But it's happened in the UFC too Couture vs Toney

And lol at the guy saying RR is 120lbs ringing wet, she's the 135lbs champion which she cuts weight to make. Link showing she walks around over 150

Good analogy with the 180lb Gracie beating the heavy weights back in the 90's.

Nobody's saying Rousey would outbox or KO Floyd, it's just that Floyd is strictly a pugilist with all his training dedicated to that form. Furthermore he's not a even a power striker who can end things with a single shot. He would be unfairly equipped to compete in an mma fight and at a disadvantage in a real fight vs someone like Rousey.

Forget the ground game for a second and imagine a compromise of Mayweather/McGregor in a kickboxing match. Again, Floyd is completely ill-equipped to handle that kind of situation. He'd get his arm broke just trying to block a kick.

Lol at bringing up the Gracies. They literally owned the UFC and made all the match ups.

Not into MMA, I dont find it exciting at all.

As soon as they go to ground, thats it, I'm watching a rerun of friends.

I boxed since I was a kid, and have always found the history to be fascinating.

          MMA does nothing for me.

Literally the first time I've ever heard of the guy. But I feel safe in saying MMA fighter wins in MMA fight, Boxer wins in Boxing match. You know, obvious **** like that.

People shouldn't take what McGregor says so seriously. His persona is to be outrageous and boastful.
He's an excellent MMA fighter, but his harsh/confident comments and trash talk are a very big reason as to why he's getting title shots and making big money in the UFC.

Lots of people in this thread have said that they have never heard of him. Well now they have..that's pretty much a job well done in his eyes.
He's making comments like this to get his name out there even more. He's not daft.

You forgot to add that he's laying ppl out as well. Talking a big game like Floyd and Broner do but he's laying cats down like Kovalev and GGG do.

the sport is super young. guys are just now starting to come into the sport who trained in MMA as kids. the guys now or in the past have had to come from other sports, because MMA as we know it today didn't exist.
