What fighter would ever claim another fighter is better?

I think heavyweights should be ranked separate from the lower weight classes. Ali is the greatest heavyweight to ever live. But, how do you honestly compare him to fighters who started in lower weight classes and moved up and found success? How can he be compared to Duran, Chavez Sr and Mayweather? Even if you rank Robinson or Mayweather #1, could they beat Ali in a 12 or 15 round fight??? No! Separate the lists!!!

        Anyway, it's his opinion.

Either way, i'd love to see him on more things actually talking about boxing. He's a much more interesting guy when he speaks about boxing then his usual stuff. And i think a guy who is that good in the ring must have a world of knowledge about boxing in his head.

Also the Ali statements are ridiculous. Spinks beat Ali when pugilistic Parkinson's was literally setting in...he was a shadow of a fragment of a shell of himself. He ain't lost to no Norton 3 times, and how is a natural heavyweight supposed to fight multiple weight classes, that's a small mans game... Also he didn't mention how impeccable Ali's FORM was pre ban. Cleveland, Patterson, Liston... These are fights to look at for that. A heavyweight moving with the grace and speed of a welterweight.

Every one knows Ali's prime years were spent in exile. When he came back he didn't have the same legs. What makes him greater than Floyd is he took his more limited toolbox compared to his prime years and still forged a legendary career... With his warriors heart. No cherrypicking going on with Frazier..no cherry picking going on with foreman.

It just doesn't even compare. Gtfoh!!! Prime Ali could finger flick you into oblivion Floyd!

I honestly cant understand why ?

P4P lists are completely subjective, why have 2 bullshht lists instead of 1?

What difference does the number of divisions make ?

The number of divisions you fought in comes down to body-type, metabolism, and your age/weight when you started.

That stuff has nothing to do with how good you are as a fighter.

It comes down to who you beat, and when/how you beat them.

              And that applies to everyone.

Ali is great because of the calibre of his wins, nothing more.

Guys who were great, but did not have the same opportunity in terms of career-defining fights, simply dont rate as highly...... Klitschko for example..... now that may be unfortunate, but Ali did it, whereas Klitschko may have done it..... big difference.

I dont understand the importance that people place on how many divisions you represented..... many great fighters only fought in 1-2 divisions..... divisional supremacy is far more important imo.

Ray Robinson, not on Floydies bogus list, didn't whine and reel off a list of b.s. as long as your leg. He fought whoever, whenever... some fights 3 weeks apart. CHAMPIONSHIP fights. Prime Joe Louis had devastating speed and good pop. So many warriors that put Floydie in the top 20, only because he has good defense. So much ducking and waiting til a fighter is shot. Whining for softer gloves, coming in overweight w/JMM, having Joe Cortez help him vs Hatton, the list goes on. Plus a pathetic role model for kids, and a misogynist woman beater. And a million excuses and instructions on how we're supposed to view what he does, and worship him... Example A: Berto fight.

No Floydie, you aren't number 1, but you're sure full of #2... 24/7/365.

He is right up there, but.....

If we were talking the best lightweight, then maybe.
