I really don't think Haymon wants to protect Broner anymore. He set everything up in Broner's favor against Porter and the guy **** the bed. Haymon's ready to let this jackass sink or swim.

At this point it's not worth protecting Broner. It's not like he's actively supporting Khabib. Things are still set up so Broner will succeed, but if he can't do it here, than Haymon's not bothering to protect him anymore.
