On Chilemba, the WBC say they are going to make 2 eliminators. One against Alvarez, then presumably another one, might be Fonfara-Rodriguez?

Duva is left with a choice of putting Kovalev in with Chilemba, putting Chilemba in with Beterbiev in hopes of Chilemba beating him to prevent the Beterbiev mando/purse bid or having Chilemba continue down the WBC route eventually getting Stevenson but having to win two tough fights before he even gets close.

Fuck the WBC. Chilemba was #1 to fight Stevenson who hasn't fought a mandatory since 2013 (nearly 2 years) but it looks like Stevenson gets protected for another year.
    Beterbiev beats Chilemba easily...
... That's Kovalev who is Stevenson's WBC mandatory now...

I read a WBC update yesterday, I believe they're moving past that.

I was maybe a little bit harsh on the WBC since they did make Kovalev mandatory but really with a proper sanctioning body Stevenson's mandatory was due before they even did that.

At this rate it will be 2.5 years before Stevenson ever fights his mandatory.

... Just checked the WBC ratings -- quite confusing...
... Kovalev is rated as "Diamond Champion" -- therefore as a WBC "champion", along with Stevenson... Chilemba is at #1...

Yea HBO doesn't get the criticism others seem to get for some reason.

Question for the guys who talk about ducking all day? Is Bhop a duck now? Not really seeing that getting thrown out there yet.

And yea I agree with most here that for Beterbiev it seems like the mandatory position is a stronger position & there was more people then I suspect suggesting Beterbiev should get a year or so more seasoning so while I disagree with the 2nd part I can see how its not gonna hurt him & can only help him to some small percentage (imo). There is also a good chance Kov drops a belt & than Kov has two "re-ducking" situations going on that keep all these 175 guys getting talked about for another 6 months easy, but then Beterbiev increases his $ just by getting a thrown away title so its a win win for him. Either he gets a fight for more money vs Kov or Kov "ducks" him as the morons here will say & picks up a belt the easy way & will make more money fighting lesser opponents.

Haymon and Michel are doing it again, stealing the big fights from the fans and having lame excuses. Frigging bastards and ******lovers.

You know that's how fighters get paid right? I'm pretty sure Beter would rather make 1 million than the 500K they were offering, plus he gets an interim fight in the mean time. THis works out for the fighter, but Duva made a dumb decision putting HBO's interest over her fighter's

On the other hand Stevenson and Artur don't have any contracts with networks,so what's their excuse for not fighting on hbo for a 50-50 split?
They can make more money fighting on a different network. 50/50 of 2 million vs 75/25 of 5 million which do you think they'd prefer? Fighters are looking out for their best interest and right now those don't align with HBO. Kovlev's team made a ****** decision signing an exclusive to HBO. Eventually he will lose all his belts this way and never be able to get them back because he won't win a purse bid. Kovavlevs going to vanish in the weight-class under this route and it will be all Kathy Duva's fault.

Ok, source where he said Sergey was easy work.
He said he believes he'll beat him again and there's nothing wrong with that. You have to have some confidence. This is also builds the fight up.

Yeah but he's a 50yo duck coming off of a lopsided loss. Should either respond to that loss with an easy last fight or just retire now imo.

So Beterbieber rejected 500k and a % of the TV money what a joke if it goes to purse bids at the split rate someone will have to pay over 2 mil for him to make that same money.

This is a clear dodge attempt hedging on fighting for the vacant title, ***** should block his entry back into the country for falling prey to western influences
