Molina, since the Arreola defeat (where he knocked down Arreola before being stopped), had gone on to win 5 fights in a row, get ranked in the top 15 by the WBC, and actual showed ability, if you actually watched the fights. Wilder was obviously the favorite, but Molina wasn't an absolute bum to anyone that saw him fight.
Salka jumping up nearly two divisions put him over a barrel, but even he walked into the fight on, in essence, a five-fight win streak (watched the Alvarez fight and, result aside, that was some home cooking there).
To simply paint a fighter as a cherry pick because YOU don't know who they are, doesn't look all that kindly on you as a fight fan.
