Or lets just not call it the battle of Ohio maybe is what I'm thinking. I'm a fan of PBC, a "**** rider" of PBC based on some peoples opinions here, but they are doing some dumb ****. And this was one of them. Maybe that fight in Ohio is the beginning of building up a base in that region that will get Porter &/or Broner fighting there more often idk, but it seemed ill named or ill placed whichever you prefer. Its no major mistake mind you, but its just a slew of lil dumb **** that undermines their impact in a marketplace that isn't a fan of change.

No question doom & gloom is winning the day among boxing forums. I think they've put on a number of good fights vs the amount of good fights everyone else is putting on. Therefore the doom & gloom isn't warranted, but its gonna take a long time to get them on board & some will surely never come aboard.
For the largest stage that PBC currently has to offer (a fight on NBC in primetime on Saturday), I don't think Haymon and Co wanted to gamble on getting 6,000 people to show up in an 18,000-seat Quicken Loans Arena (no idea what other venues in Ohio would be there to give the top-flight feel of the MGM Grand, Barclays Center, Staples Center, etc).

The naming was inartful, to say the least.

Yea... I don't know who he is either. Better than Jeter so far only because he's younger.... and he looks really damn young

So far his only accomplishment is not getting knocked out by Magomedov.... in an otherwise very padded up OPBF record
looks like you snitched on yourself to start the post, so no.

Like most rational people, you seem to have decided to look up the unknown name after it was announced, as did I. better luck next time.

Only even round in that fight was round 3 when not much happened. Round 1 Pirog was blocking and dodging the vast majority of Danny's shots, and nailing him with some solid counters, especially that big left. Round 2, Pirog nearly floors Danny 2x in the first minute and from there on Danny stayed on the backfoot. Round 4, it becomes clear Pirog isn't worried about Danny's power and starts toying with him in spots and towards the end increases his pressure on Danny, all the while Danny's not landing anything to get Pirog to go back. Round 5 Pirog picks right up where he left off with the extra pressure and setups Danny up for the KO at the 60 sec mark.
Round 2, Pirog was clearly giving Jacobs the business; the other three rounds ... yeah.

Round 1 was basically stalemate, and Jacobs' activity carried 3 and 4 imo. Round 5 and Jacobs getting a "wrath of heaven" shot ended the night, and that's was that.

different tastes on fight styles, I guess.

Still saw the fight, didn't know who the fuck he was then and didn't know who he was until i looked him up on boxrec and saw he was the guy Magomedov fucked up.

Unless somebody is from Victoria, Australia then nobody knows who he is and your hundi is safe... and that just goes to show how sad and irrelevant this fight is.... that people in Australia barely know who he is and Peter Quillin is going to fight him

Everyone here shat on Eric Molina as an opponent (likely after doing no more than looking at BoxRec and seeing the 1-round KO by Arreola); went back and watched the Arreola fight, I believe the Tony Grano fight, and the Zumbano Love fight, and saw a guy with some ability (power in both hands, decent movement, nasty uppercuts, etc). Tuned in for the fight, and the result was a good little fight; he proved to be tougher than folks thought he was, but he simply wasn't on Wilder's level.

Why can't Zerafa get that benefit of a doubt? Guy's never been stopped in a fight, lost a wide decision to a guy who is apparently starting to bubble, and Haymon has had a suprisingly good record of bringing in solid no-name fighters to begin with.

Seriously man? Just because a cherry pick turned out to be a tough fight for Wilder (which says A LOT about how good Wilder really is) doesn't mean it wasn't a ****** fight to make. If Salka would have gave Garcia a bit of a fight wouldn't suddenly make it good match making. A cherry pick is a cherry pick no matter how you slice it. Just because Wilder struggled with his that doesn't make all future cherry picks for every other fighter legit.

To me, seeing what PBC has lined up for free, makes the GGG card for $49.95 seem like a bargain. This is actually what it has come down to.

I mean free stuff is good and all, but I would rather go buy groceries than go dumpster diving for it. I wonder if that is where Al will look at for Quillin's next opponent? For the amount of money these guys are getting paid, it is ridiculous.

So far they have one fight on their fall schedule I like, Broner vs Khabib.... but out of the what... 20 fights they have for the fall schedule... not very good percentage

still two guys throwing hands, with neither guy having been dropped and Zerafa's only defeat being to a fighter who might prove to have some ability.

unknown is one thing; still, to hear people hear tell it, you would've assumed that Zerafa had lost 4 of his last 7 fights (3 by KO).

maybe he sucks, maybe he doesn't; we'll find out in about 6 weeks. goodday
