Lucas is in a good place. He made the right decision to be with Golden Boy. He will probably never be on an undercard ever again like Haymon stuck him on in 2014.

Agree, very good move as he will be one of the main guys at GoldenBoy. Hopefully he can secure a Pacquiao fight if he beats Postol.

A lot of you seem to have got the wrong end of the stick, let me clarify. He knows he's lost so I doubt he's talking about a promise made in 2013. He is talking about last year where Haymon presumably told him a Mayweather fight is coming so he signed with Haymon however Lucas was fed up of getting Molina and Ortiz (not even a title shot) and as a result left Al. He's commenting on last year and not 2013. He's a smart guy, he knows he lost to Garcia and had to rebuild, I watch every move (and interview) Lucas makes and there's no reason to assume he's talking about an old promise.

It's crazy that he just beat a guy not many want to fight better than anyone else and people are still sleeping on him for losing to Garcia 2 years ago. It's clear Garcia's suffered more from that night than Matthysse.

I'm baffled by that, as well. Their careers have gone in two totally directions and it's clear who's progressing.

Matthysse fans try to sell you this notion that Matthysse was the superior fighter early on, when in reality Matthysse never established himself as the superior fighter at no portion of the fight. Garcia was the more composed fighter, where as Mattyhsse fought desperate.

it wouldnt have had anything to do with fighting with one eye, would it? That was then this is now. Lucas has looked much better since then. Meanwhile Garcia has been out worked by Herrera, bullied around the ring for half a fight against a guy Lucas obliterated , and now, looked flat against a fighter that is way passed it.

yea, matthysse continues to provide exciting fights and still knocking people out while gift has struggled to look impressive in 3 of his last 4 fights. but as they say, "at da end of da day doe he got da w."

Lucas just fought Provo-a journeyman brawler that lost to Chris Algieiri in Verona, NY. He fought John Molina, Roberto Ortiz and now Postol for a belt Danny vacated.

Danny fought Salka, Herrera, Petersen and Paulie all in bigger arenas than Lucas fought for bigger paydays than Lucas. He is now on to WW.

Danny proved he was better than Lucas that night and guys need to just accept this and move on.
