The fight was in his hands before he lost to Garcia. Since then the fight just hasn't made sense.

That is what Provo is IMO- a journeyman brawler. No more, no less. How would you describe him?

Who, what, when, where? & how did it get busted? Courtesy of Danny Garcia, the swelling of the eye in the year 2013 in Las vegas by dannys fist...
the swelling wasn't caused by danny's fist either. it was from an awkward parry where the tape on his glove scrapped lucas' eye. it is what it is. gift looked like a pedestrian caveman hooker in the first 6 rounds. luckiest fighter in the sport.

He is talking about last year where Haymon presumably told him a Mayweather fight is coming so he signed with Haymon however Lucas was fed up of getting Molina and Ortiz (not even a title shot) and as a result left Al. He's commenting on last year and not 2013. He's a smart guy, he knows he lost to Garcia and had to rebuild, I watch every move (and interview) Lucas makes and there's no reason to assume he's talking about an old promise.

It's crazy that he just beat a guy not many want to fight better than anyone else and people are still sleeping on him for losing to Garcia 2 years ago. It's clear Garcia's suffered more from that night than Matthysse.
You sure about that? I remember John Molina clearly dropping Matthysse with a body shot. And it wasn't a lucky punch either.

People do tend to exaggerate. I think I gave Danny the 1st and 3rd rounds. Then another before the eye started to close in the 6th. Lucas actually won several rounds after the eye. Without the kd I would've had it a draw, if I remember correctly. I do think the kd was legit too. Danny won a very close competitive fight, everybody thought he would lose. Unfortunately Danny hasn't been the same sense. I'm curious to see how Lucas looks after the bombs he took vs Provo. These type of fights can have lasting effects.

So Danny's very arguably lost to Peterson and Herrera, fought #77 in a lower divison. Whereas Matthysse just fought Molina and Ortiz (Haymon picked opponents) and just bea Provodnikov but Danny's in a better position? Danny's last few choices have resembled a loser more than a winner. Matthysse has had his stock go up and Danny vice versa. You can't argue otherwise.

Body shot? What have you been watching, both side of the head/grazing.

P.S I'm not just talking physical effects, Danny has looked terrible and I like DSG, I even made a thread last week explaining that I like DG.

And Radio Raheem, you have a lot of spare time on your hands eh? Lmfao

Guys with ten plus losses are journeymen. You're calling a guy who has barely lost all of his fights and gives everyone hell, a journeyman. So what is Andre Berto?

Danny fought Salka, Herrera, Petersen and Paulie all in bigger arenas than Lucas fought for bigger paydays than Lucas. He is now on to WW.

Danny proved he was better than Lucas that night and guys need to just accept this and move on.
How does the size of the arena or the money made make the fight any better? Journeyman? I don't mean to be rude but you sound like a hater, you even picked Postol to beat Matthysse. And how you can list Salka with seriousness is hilarious. Herrera was not supposed to be competetive and he got schooled. You need to accept Danny has gone backwards since Matthysse.

Idc if you think Danny is 10x the fighter Matthysse is but arguing that Danny's had a better past 2 years than Lucas is plain ridiculousness. Rightfully or wrongfully, DG is seen as a laughing stock right now. And I still have a lot of faith in Danny, I have him beating Thurman and Porter so no bias.
