Its not your fault - you honestly have a selective memory. Berto was actually criticized for constantly getting big HBO paydays for easy competition. He was actually considered as a fighter who didn't fight good competition at all, and when he did, he lost, or looked bad winning. He landed the fight because he is a warrior, has a fan friendly style, has been in 2 fight of the years/candidates, is explosive, fast, powerful and will come to fight and push Floyd to his limits. He has proven that he was never scared to let his 0 go. Steve Upsher Chambers was a good comeback fight coming off a bad shoulder injury that sidelined him. So not only is he an exciting warrior with explosive power, he has a great comeback story and has overcome adversity time and time again.
Boxing needs more Andre "The Beast" Bertos and less A Mere "Queen" Cons
Also, have you watched Berto lately, the fighter that lost to Soto Karass and was losing to joseito Lopez is just, plainly said, not that good. that's why he's unranked by most legitimate rankings and 22nd by boxrec. Spin all you want - its a bad choice, especialy when you're gonna charge $75 for the privilege of watching you beat someone that is a 40-1 underdogComment

Porter just beat a fighter in his very last fight that was ranked as a top 3-4 fighter in his weight class. before that, last year he beat 2 other top 10 ranked contenders. Who has Berto beat in past 3-4 years that was even a top 10 ranked contender?Comment

Anyone acting like Berto and Khan are on the same level is just flat out hating. It's quite obvious that Khan has faced far better competition, especially as of late, and has looked a lot better.
Berto's last 3 fights: Getting TKO'd by Soto-Karass, Sleep walking through a fight with Chambers, and then KOing Josesito Lopez in a fight that he was losing.
Floyd chose Berto, so it is what it is, but don't act like there isn't much separation between Berto and Khan. Khan is at a much higher level.Comment

not sure if you read all posts. I was not claiming Khan was ducked or that he was even most deserving - just that he deserved it more than 40-1 longshot Berto. If you disagree with that - really not much else to sayI might have to see your papers ....move on..Reading your posts here I see you are trying your up most but to absolutely no avail .Why are you even discussing Khan he's fought no one since being hammered at a lighter weight by a pretty flat footed fighter with a little dig.
People are never going to take your argument seriously until Khan does what he's been threatening to do for years and fight a top guy and until that time it would be best for you to wind your neck in !Comment

can't be serious .. berto is capable of beating all those guys you listed. . berto is not a bum, it's just that compared to floyd thats all we can call him since floyd is the best. but berto vs collazo/chaves/alexander is a toss up fight. He can fight who he wants, he can pick an easy fight if he wants for his last fight.
But there is no amount of spin he can put on the fight that will trick people into thinking Berto is a worthy opponent.
Lara at 154, Cotto II, Brook, Khan, Thurman, Porter, Garcia..plenty of better options to explore.
There's even better 'Gimme' fights than Berto. The likes of Collazo, Chaves and Alexander are better than Berto.
Berto has Sotto Karass problems. Not so long ago people were talking down Berto's chances in a potential rematch with Ortiz. He's that bad.
Mayweather should just be honest about the fight instead of the damage limitation quotes from him and Ellerbe.Comment

Oh I'm not consigning the berto pick just stating none of the ww did anything to standout to actually get the fight but fight weak opposition other then brook beating porter the rest of guys fought bum after bum then call mayweather name instead of fighting each other making a strong caseYou are right. no doubt that Khan picked fighters with not a lot of KO power. But who has Berto beaten recently that is any better. Steve F***N Chambers and Joseito Lopez ? At least Alexander, Collazo and Algieri had proven to be top fighers who won world titles in their careerComment

your plain wrong on one thing. We know Arum is as much of an impediment to the TR v. haymon feud. that said, you think there was any chance in hell that haymon was going to help make Pac v. Thurman for examplebro, the reason berto is such a huge underdog is because hes facing floyd.. if berto was fighting pacquiao, the odds would not be that crazy.. but odds aside, im just talking about the QUALITY of opponents, berto is in the same league as rios and algieri. . i would favor him to beat rios and vs algieri its a toss up. . so all you bringing up is betting odds, im talking about skills, what does rios, algieri and berto bring to the table? .. you might get a pass saying manny picked the statue rios just because he was coming off a KO, but the algieri pick cannot be defended, he could've fought all of these guys at 147 that we want floyd to fight.. why couldn't he fight thurman, brook, khan, porter..and why don't we ask him to fight ggg at 154, didn't he win a belt there? and don't say he's too small since that excuse doesn't work for mayweather.Comment

that's true, but that doesn't change the fact that there are quite a number of better options than bertoOh I'm not consigning the berto pick just stating none of the ww did anything to standout to actually get the fight but fight weak opposition other then brook beating porter the rest of guys fought bum after bum then call mayweather name instead of fighting each other making a strong caseComment
