Comments Thread For: Mayweather: Khan Won Two Titles? So Did Andre Berto!

WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) has bombarded on Thursday night by reporters who questioned his decision to face massive underdog Andre Berto on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

There were other options, like WBA 'regular' champion Keith Thurman and British star Amir Khan - who's been chasing Mayweather for the last two years.

Mayweather sees nothing that makes Khan a better option than Berto - at least right now. Both Khan and Berto share the same trainer in Virgil Hunter.

    hmmmm

Just based on human nature, I'm curious how much of picking berto was to get khan pissed. Floyd has be just like the rest of us sometimes. Not that I wanted khan but I enjoy khan being a cry baby.

You missed out the line where he said no one's forcing people to buy the fight.

Both Khan and Berto would be good choices if he was going for the 50-0 record next year. But for a career close out fight.....NO!

i believe floyd would rather kneel down and shine shoes than try to physically resist against a healthy fast young opponent

i honestly think he would just get down and begin servicing without a word

Berto would be the 2nd best opponent Khan has faced at welterweight behind Devon Alexander.
