Purse bids that Haymon only honors when he wins? Haymon is clearly using it as a tactic to enforce fights on his networks on his terms. When he is out bid like Quillen situation he doesnot allow the fight to happen. Haymon is using purse bid as tactical ploy and forcing a fighter to turn down a direct title shot and career payday to instead fight an eliminator for the title shot and make less money and get less exposure just to force a purse bid is a new low. Something no other promoter would advise their fighter to do. No unbias boxing fan can look at this other then a slime ball move.Comment

You have a horse in this race obviously. I'm not wasting my time on this one.
Big fights should go to purse bid. Exclusive network and promotional contracts are killing boxing and purse bids are the solution. Any fan should love purse bids
I just don't get it. **** promoters. **** networks. Get the 2 top dogs in the division, have a bid, and the highest bidder gets exclusive rights to the fight. It's the most perfect solution to every problem in boxing right now.Comment

As to Kov/Bieterbiev you are actually defending Kov trying to make that fight after cowardly backing out of the purse bid after requesting to be the mandatory and then blaming Haymon because he outsmarted Duva who tried to do the same thing.
Man, you guys are deathly afraid of Haymon succeeding and there is no rational reason why it should bother you if all you truly care about is fights being made.
If you didn't kill HBO for blackballing Haymon and preventing fights you wanted, why are you now mad at Haymon for carving out his own niche and not working with HBO?Comment

See how much easier it is when you criticize BS for what it is instead of nut hugging your favorite fighters or network 100% of the time?
While I don't disagree at all that we would get a lot of fights that should happen, this is a clear case of them putting off a fight just to get to the purse bid. This fight could have been made in September if the offer we've read about was real. $500,000 and 25% PPV in Russia seems like a generous offer that possibly could have gotten Beterbiev close to $1 million after everything. No clue what he makes per fight but I'm guessing it's way less then that. And now he takes a meaningless fight to get to the same spot he's in right now.Comment

Yeah. Huge Beterbiev fan here.
Ok. So **** Haymon and the coward move pulled by that hoe ass Peter Quillin.

The move is to get possibly more money for both fighters. If Duva doesn't have the resources then Kovalev needs to drop her.Comment

GYM/Haymon are aiming to win a purse bid and expecting Kovalev to vacate.
HBO needs to do something to protect their champions, they need to allow a clause where if they're not willing to match a winning purse bid, they allow their fighter to defend on another network.Comment
