WTF? there have been purse bids for years. you're suggesting if a fight goes to a purse bid that one guy doesn't want to fight? that is ******ed.

The purse bid winner gets to control venue and broadcast among other things. When Kov/HBO didn't want to cede this to Stevenson/Haymon you were ok with it. Now when the places are reversed, you suddenly have a problem with it. GTFO!

Kov walked away from the purse bid, that is a fact that can not be argued or changed. The purse bid ensures the maximum amount for both boxers. It is the fairest way to do things.

I'm glad you seem to be aknowledging that Stevenson's real promoter is Al Haymon, not Gym. That makes this whole fiasco a lot easier to understand.

Purse bids normally only happen when promoters fail to reach a negotiated deal. In this case there were no negotiations because Haymon flat out refused to enter into any and requested an immediate purse bid, knowing that this would force Duva to withdraw her fighter.

Are you going to be ****** enough to try and insist that this move ensured the maximum income for both fighters?
