Canelo vs Cotto should go head to head with Mayweather

Canelo is the future and he's Mexican. Floyd should not hog the Mexican holidays especially since he is NOT Mexican. Now he is facing another NON mexican. If I was Canelo and GBP i'd go head to head, surely they will get higher ppv numbers than this joke of a fight!

Why would Cotto cost himself money by going against Floyd? Even if it did more buys it affects their own pockets. The only people with a grudge are Oscar and Canelo... They hate Floyd and know they can't beat him in the ring so they would try these lame attempts of "damaging him." Cotto is a real man and he also holds a grudge against Floyd. The difference is, as I stated, Cotto is a real man and will try to beat him in the ring not "outdo" Floyds number that ONE time to justify how great they are.

That's what Canelo does though, he got a good rating ONE TIME. He got a lot of buys ONE TIME... Yet Oscar and Canelo think they do that all the time which is false. He should probably call himself Saul "one time" Alvarez instead. Or maybe Saul "Got my good numbers off of Floyd" Alvarez.

Should they? Do you consider that to be a wise idea?

As soon as Oscar got confirmation that Mayweather was fighting on September 12th he put his hand on Canelo's shoulder and told them that he won't be fighting that date.

They aren't going to compete with Mayweather.

OK. Now let's discuss the real world. Mayweather/Guerrero and Mayweather/Maidana individually outsold Cotto and Canelo's highest PPV as the A-side COMBINED. Cotto/Canelo will probably do 800,000 max. Mayweather/Berto....let's say 500-600K.

You schedule them on the same day, both PPVs will suffer, but guess who has the $32 million guarantee? Everybody loses except Floyd.

It's a flat out ****** move from every angle.

Mayweather clearly doesn't care at all about how many buys he gets anymore

It would be a bad idea to go head to head with a guy like that

Terrible idea. Plus the fights only a few weeks away. Canelo is probably in the 180s still lol

Even if it was a wise idea, it's way too late now.

That would be the ******est idea ever; Mayweather vs Berto will get more coverage than any other fight left this year.

They already had this showdown; Canelo and Oscar both blinked.
