ODLY has taken a page out of Bob Arum's negotiating thru the media.

If they didn't talk so much of the negotiations it mostly goes thru without drama, but when that is all they talk about the make it seem that it is a bigger problem than is really is.

In Arum's defense, & I'm not usually one to come to it, he's done well with that strategy so while its annoying I can't blame Oscar for trying. Cotto is a different animal, like Mayweather. Arum's approach got him the media & the people on his side with Mayweather, but didn't get him the billion dollar or w/e fight til years later & after he stfu.

They been negotiating for a year and this chump has already backed out once. The money and major points been ironed out since last December. Rushing? The media and fans are hounding him saying why ain't it done yet. This ain't on Oscar Cotto has been called out for being difficult and walking away from big money fights in the past. When has that been said about the canelo side? Cotto side just made because they getting getting exposed again.

Cotto loses more then canelo if he walks away again. Canelo is young and has nothing but time. Cotto don't have many years left to keep wasting years plus he will end up having to vacate his belt because only way he got an extension to not fight GGG was if he fought Canelo. HBO had enough of him which is why they told him we only interested if you fight Canelo next. Good luck trying to get on showtime or PBC. Haymon has major beef with Roc nation and won't let any of his fighters fight Cotto. Cotto if he backs out he is screwed on many levels. Canelo will move on fight somebody else on HBO and all the backlash like last time will fall on Cotto for refusing to fight.

If Cotto backs out who does he fight next? He can't fight any Haymon fighters. He can't Andrade he is suing Roc nation. He can't fight Top Rank fighters not after the way Cotto stabbed Arum in the back. And he will have backed out twice on Golden Boy so you can scratch any of their fighters off the list. We all know he wants nothing to do with GGG who will kill this diva chump. What's Roc nation gonna make him fight Ward?
