Exactly. So far we have Cotto with a long history of being difficult in negotiations and backing out big money fights. Again please tell me when Canelo has been accused of any of this? Cotto's previous promoter went on record saying everything was done we got a great deal for our client all we need is his signature. His promoter who is looking out for Cotto not Canelo said this. That was last year in December. It was Cotto and his manager who cried about the deal, stalled and then backed out. Now he has a new Promoter who just like his previous one has no problem with the deal and has not come out publicly saying otherwise. Again it's only Cotto and his manager crying and being difficult his own promoters like the deal, HBO likes the deal, Golden Boy likes the deal.

The money was already agreed on. HBO was not and has not increased the money offer. Golden Boy has not increased the money offer to Cotto's promoter. If the money changes for Cotto this time it's because Roc Nation is taking a different percent then what Top Rank was taking or because Roc Nation is offering a bonus for signing a multi fight deal. But the deal is virtually the same as it was a year ago this time. So what more is this whining diva waiting for to sign the deal? He is running out of excuses for ducking Canelo. This should of took less then a week to wrap up these fools been looking at the same offer on the table for a year now.

Canelo is the one who left negotiations the first time, not Cotto. You are takling so much nonsense and it was Canelo who got mad and left to fight Kirkland. That fight was done literally a week after he left the negotiations and Cotto was looking for an opponent months later. If you Canelo fans want to say Cotto is being difficult or a diva fine, but he isn't the one who got his panties in a bunch because he wasn't getting his way.

This fight isn't going to happen for another 16 weeks... Floyd fights in 5 and he just announced it. "Boxing" fans are probably the most entitled, spoiled and stuck up fans in the sport. Just think, if Oscar never ran his mouth we'd all just be waiting. But, this is what he wanted to do get people to call Cotto the diva...

How is Cotto the diva when Oscar paid Cotto to not fight in NY? Wouldn't it be the other way around? Shouldn't Cotto the diva be paying Oscar/Canelo to fight in NY? Paying someone to fight in a certain city and arena as opposed to another is the same as paying a guy to wear certain gloves. At least Floyd has done SOMETHING to earn that type of attitude. Losses to Floyd and a robbery of Lara apparently has Canelo thinking he's Floyd now. On top of that, they are asking for a rematch clause as a ****ing challenger LMAO!

First Hopkins does an interview saying "I HOPE my guy wins." What ****ing promoter says that? Hopkins knows Canelo is losing and Oscar is making sure Canelo gets another shot when he loses so he can get another payday before his biggest star dims into forgotten hype.

As for the people saying "Oscar is being asked the question..." Have you ever heard of no comment? It worked for Floyd/Manny when it finally got done, go figure it was ruined when... Bob, Oscars idol right now, went to the media and ruined that fight from being made years ago.

Not one person on this thread knows that half of what goes on in big fight negotiations. Social media just feeds the frenzy of speculation. Everyone should get a life and wait for the freaking announcment -- instead of pointing fingers at people they've never met, and opining on subjects they know nothing about.

Canelo moved on to fight someone else after the Cotto camp left it's own promoter at the time and golden boy in the dark for MONTHS! Stalled the negotiations that his own promoter said was done months prior. Golden Boy started negoating a deal back in Sept 2014. And as of late Nov early Dec both Golden Boy and his promoter Top Rank said the deal was done just needed Cotto to sign. Jan/Dec roll by and still this diva clown didn't sign and refused to give an answer one way or another. Golden Boy had no choice but to find another opponent. Cotto wasn't even talking to his own promoter during this time as confirmed when Bob Arum aired him out months later. His new promoter has no problem with the deal. Why isn't Roc Nation coming out saying Golden Boy and HBO is screwing Cotto over? Why hasn't HBO at any point defended that clown Cotto? Hell they basically told you what they felt when they said no Cotto we won't air your fight unless you agree to fight Canelo next. Why they say that? Because this diva clown has proven he will weasel his way out of fights so they wanted assurances that he would actually fight Canelo.

Because Cotto didn't sign a contract with HBO. So he can beat Canelo and go fight Floyd on Showtime. That's what Cotto does. He doesn't sign long-term contracts with any network like Floyd did Showtime and Canelo did with HBO.

HBO said that because they didn't want to have a Cotto fight on HBO then have him fight Floyd which is why Canelo got up and left negotiations. He AND EVEN OSCAR admitted they thought he was fighting Floyd. So they LEFT and now they look like morons because they cracked at the negotiating table. HBO had to ask for Cotto to fight Canelo next in order to be on the network to save their brand and not build someone up to have them leave, again like Floyd and Canelo as well. It called business... there are levels to this **** and you just can't comprehend this.

They have been negotiating this fight for almost a year! This is not a last minute piece of garbage Berto fight. Cotto has wasted a full year fighting with promoters INCLUDING HIS OWN yet this mess is on Canelo? Lay off the pipe. Top Rank sided with Golden Boy even before Cotto stabbed them in the back. HBO has sided with Golden Boy. Only ones defending Cotto's diva actions is his manager and his remaining hard core fans that will defend him even if they slapped their moms. Nobody but Cotto's manager is complaining about the deal not HBO, Top Rank, Roc Nation, Freddie Roach (who runs his mouth about everything by the way).

Oscar is forced to answer questions because the media and fans are hounding him on why this aint a done deal. Virtually the same exact terms that were on the table LAST YEAR. I got no problems with Oscar speaking on this which has dragged on way too long when fans and media asking him questions and speculating that Cotto will pull out again.
