You ladies need to the understand that a rematch cluase is not the hold up. Cotto and Roc Nation wants the fight in NY. Cotto will accept 50/50 if the fight is in NY(which a lot of people are pushing really hard for) but he wants 55-45 if the fights is in Vegas.

And this point Cotto is using the money aspect of the fight, to get it pused to NY. Cotto have a Guarantee of 16.67 Millions, so he will happily take less money of the PPV just to have it in NY. And everything points that either Canelo budge on that one or the fight will be in jeopardy.

On a side note, I like Oscar but he needs to STFU!

Tell that idiotic Cotto adviser that there is no A-side in this fight. It's 50/50 fight. He doesn't have to be antagonistic, combative and all these useless negative emotions unless he's ready to take Golovkin as a replacement.

The ignorance on this forum is incredible. Oscar is clearly bull****ting about what's remaining on the negotiating table, but once again Cotto's team is perceived as the team stalling negotiations. I wonder who here on this forum has actually sat at the negotiating table with these two teams.... how do we know it's not Canelos team asking for ridiculous things. It's a fact that Oscar wants an immediate rematch clause for Canelo should he lose. Why is Cotto's team obligated to give him that. Gaby said Oscars claims are false, so maybe Cotto does not want a rematch clause either way. My point is, who the duck knows who's stalling negotiations?

BTW I wouldn't question Cotto's warrior spirit in the ring. You sound like a fool.

The $16.67m guarantee figure is inaccurate, for the simple fact that a lot of the money dedicated in the Roc Nation deal was to actual help back Miguel Cotto Promotions in PR, for their budding concerts business.

It's not 50/50, for the simple fact that Cotto can walk away from the fight and not have his legacy affected, while Canelo Alvarez needs the fight to continue to build his own starpower.

Oscar needs to understand that simple point, and bend for the deal. Cotto's ring mat, Cotto's belt, Cotto first on the marquee, Cotto second to the ring, and Cotto willing to move the fight to whatever venue brings the most money.

Because Cotto doesn't have to fight Golovkin next; he's basically locked in at least one more voluntary defense, before having to decide whether he even still wants to parade as a middleweight. Cotto's name is big enough that he can keep fighting whomever he wants for as long as he still wants to fight.
