      Great Thread! I agree 1000%

You gotta pay your dues and put in the Work, but who is to blame in all of this? US THE FANS! Because PRIDE and desperation for Bragging Rights i guess? We tend to Crown Guys very early now and we want them to get Title Shots without earning it and we want guys to become starts OVERNIGHT! If a Prospect takes his time and work his way up then people say "He Is Being Protected". These guys become Divas before accomplishing anything thanks to Fans! Yes Fans are to blame because I hear GGG Team, I hear Freddie Roach, I hear even Mayweather repeat some of the ****** **** that Fans say and use to to justify their BS!

Mayweather and Pacquiao ERA has produced some very ****** fans and it is bad for the sport because you have fans defend bad match ups, being bias toward networks, hoping that the Network or Promotion their favorite fighter is not with fail. A bunch of BOXER Fans, WTF happened to the BOXING FANS, MEN (not Boys and Immature Men who act emotional attached like Women) who can discuss boxing without being bias and without trying to push some type of agenda to always make sure that they only guy they know about is always in the conversation.

Anyway, yeah Young Hungry Prime Mayweather was a MONSTER, old brittle hand Mayweather knows his limitations and adjusted his style around those limitations. I see young fighters trying to fight like Old Brittle Hand Mayweather while they're still in their 20's and haven't accomplished anything. As for the "A Side" stuff, only A Sides in boxing are Mayweather, Pacquiao and Cotto! (and Wlad, I always forget about Wlad!) After them then you have Canelo because of his following. Besides those 5, NOBODY IN BOXING SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT THEY'RE THE "A-SIDE" and trying to make ***ing demands like they bring Money to the Table like Mayweather and Pacquiao does. *** Off! And *** you fans who go around claiming your guy is the A-Side when he is not.

That's a good point about the styles too.

Lara will move around, throw 1-2s and try to coast then complain about his 4 controversial decisions. Then will say "When Floyd does it it's a masterclass. When I do it it's running"

Well, one guy generates a trillion dollars for the city of las Vegas and the other guy is still an unknown. Until you get to that level, you need to step on the gas, put punches together and inflict damage.

I love this thread but Garcia shouldn't be on there, yes he should have rematch Herrera but he isn't going to be the first and last not to do so.

This thread is inspired by Danny Jacobs A-side rant BTW.

It's no secret I'm a Floyd fan. Been one since 1996 when he fought at the Olympics. He is one of the most skilled, compete fighters I have ever seen and I love watching boxing at its highest level. With that said, I do not like the impact he will leave on the sport going forward.

I understand divas have existed since the 1900s. The great Ray Robinson was a diva, Leonard was a diva, and numerous other fighters used to get cute in negotiations to gain advantages. That's not my issue. You put in work, bleed, fight killers, put your life at stake...you deserve to get paid, call the shots and make it tough for a young fighter to use the name that you worked so hard to build to launch his career.

But now, you have guys like Danny Jacobs, Peter Quillin, Frampton/Quigg, Rigo/Loma, Demetrius Andrade, GGG/Ward, Kovalev/Stevenson, Khan/Brook, etc. etc. talking this a-side, A-side BS. What have these guys accomplished to be making such demands? None of them have classic battles, hall of fame resumes or anything.

And it doesn't end there. You have Danny Garcia taking soft touches and not giving anybody rematches. Adrien Broner declaring himself next in line while accomplishing nothing. Keith Thurman treating Errol Spence like other fighters he complains about. GGG and Rigo afraid to test their skills one division higher. Nobody has the desire to be the next ATG fighter.

Floyd and Pac weren't perfect but they took risks, gave rematches in controversial fights, and fought the best in several weight divisions. When moving up to 135, Floyd fought Castillo while Broner and Garcia fought Paulie.

I understand there are some qualities that make you born a superstar. Your charisma, nationality, color, personality, etc. But every boxing superstar from Leonard, Chavez, Floyd, Pac, Oscar, Tyson, etc.....all had one thing in common.....

They tested themselves against the best. And they didn't act like divas until they earned the right to.

The "A-side" reference from Jacobs was especially annoying because it basically showed that he thinks that he (and Quillin) are given a special privilege for nothing more than being Al Haymon fighters.

Not resume or achievements or even being a draw....but because they're part of the PBC thing.

And yes, Floyd paid his dues unlike most of these deluded idiots. But I've been saying it for a long time - Mayweather's corrosive influence on the sport will linger long after he retires. All the ****ed-up power plays, the diva antics, the self-entitlement, even the god-awful style he's been using these last few years to win fights (see Broner against Porter).

Couldn't agree more, you work your way to the top and then call the shots, like all of the ATG's, not just get some good wins at world level and act like you're in a position to call the shots. I'm hoping it's just a phase and someone comes through and shows everyone how it's supposed to be done once Mayweather is gone.

                    EXACTLY!

I can't remember which Charlo Brother it is off the top of my head (might be Jermell))but this guy is SO Painful to watch because he fights like he is just terrified and with absolutely no killer instinct to him, not even thinking about a stoppage and I think he is only 25 years old.

You're obviously missing the point completely.

The point is that guys like Manny and Floyd earned the right to make demands. They never avoided challenges on the way up. Floyd got in with the likes of Corrales on the way up when it was a real 50/50 fight to see who was the best. It would be nigh on impossible to get 2 fighters of today who are in that position to fight each other. The young fighters today think they're entitled without earning it.

It's not difficult to understand. They should be taking influence from Floyd's whole career, not Floyd now.
