I think he's making a good go at making boxing mainstream, but it is definitely imperfect.

I think he is doing boxing a disservice by dividing the talent among promoter/broadcaster lines. For that reason I am hoping for him to fail, but I like some of his ideas in theory.

Short term we will have some mixed quality PBC cards. Some good, some bad. I think the mainstream push is good, forward thinking. I just don't think Al Haymon is the man for the job.

Mares vs Santa Cruz should be a very nice fight.

Mares smooth combination punching style coupled with LSC's come forward insight fighting "Mexican" style should be the perfect stylistic clash to bring first time watchers and the casual on board

Furthermore we already know many of the upcoming matchups, and it's not getting any better, Haymon needs to step his game up and it doesn't like it's happening.
exactly plus knowing hymon's long history of making mismatch after mismatch boxing fans are correct to be skeptical about pbc.

why should it of been a no contest? if u cant continue u lose what would make it a no contest exactly?

boxingscene should ban posters that post about this daily, what i need to understand is who has had better matchmaking than pbc? people complain about matchmaking as if before pbc it was that much better

Well u judge the success of something by comparing it to it's competition, and PBC's competition is HBO, Shotime and ESPN friday night fights and so far I think that the clear winner at this point is PBC as far as matchmaking, we've seen some tune ups, but we've also seen great matchups like Thurman Guerrero, Broner Porter, Garcia Matthysse and LSC Mares, and all that happened in the span of like 6 months, what did showtime, HBO and ESPN do jn the last 6 months? What Will they do for the next of the year?

Although tune ups are not good, but they're not that bad either cuz at least they keep the fighter busy, who always fought 3-4 times a year against top Opposition every time out? Only guys like Mayweather can do that (fight top opposition every time out), but u can't hold that as a standard cuz it's too damn high, very few fighters fight top rated guys all the times, it sure would be better if the best fought the best all the time but it never really happened this way recently even before Al Haymon, so I dont see him bringing the sport down, he's just playing the game like everyone else and he's clearly providing better matchups than everyone else right now
