Will Boxing Ever Be Able To Regain Credibility After PBC's Inevitable Failure?

The PBC is not hurting boxing's image with fans. (it is hurting boxing in terms of fighter development and market finance).
I remember casual fans saying they'd never watch boxing again after the decision for Dela Hoya/Mosely II was announced. I remember casual fans saying they'd never buy another ppv after watching Pacquiao/Clottey. I remember moderate boxing fans saying they'd never buy another Mayweather ppv countless times. And of course May/Pac. If boxing can survive May/Pac, it can survive anything.
For years/decades FNF has been giving the casual fans some of the crappiest fights imaginable. The PBC is still levels above FNF.

From the boxingscene top 10 pound for pound list, Al Haymon has 1 fighter. Floyd Mayweather. He doesn't even fight in PBC.
He needs to sign more of the elite fighters to fill these dates.

So you would prefer Ontime to face no hopers, Garcia vs Salka matchups, as long as someone gets ko'd rather easily without any fight put up by the loser. OK. you can have it. Boxing "fans" are whats leading its downward spiral.
Mismatches in fact can build interest in a fight. Cotto and Canelo both had impressive KO's in their last bouts. Made me want to see them fight more.
