Harris was bending over looking at his feet, and Oquendo, with the inside of his glove open haneded (think Van Dam crushing the bricks in blood sport) just chopped downward on the back of Harris' neck. Not even the back of the head, the neck. Harris crumbled to the mat and they waived it off and gave it to Fres via KO.

He was probably winning at that point anyway, but it was just brutal to see that bad of a foul.
Yeah that description is good enough for me, thanks bozo.

I personally would rather watch someone else while they're watching the fight.....than actually sit through a fight between Maurice Harris and "Fast" Fres Oquendo.

Oh wait....he's "The Big O" now. More like big "O NO".

OK, so you feel Douglas should have been stopped against Tyson then, correct?

Considering the count should have reached 13, yes.

That has nothing to do with this stoppage.

Sergie was fighting sick from a bad reaction to the B-12 or 16 shot, which are usually given to athelets or anyone who is suffering from the cold/flu. It's suppose to help, now imagine if you have the flu and you get the shot pre-fight and it only makes it worse? I'm surprised he fought 9 rounds.

Yeah, that Oquendo foul was ridiculous. Basically ended Harris' career. That should have been an immediate DQ. That's why I never felt sorry for Oquendo getting robbed against Byrd- he should never have been there in the first place, Harris was winning that fight before that brutal foul.

Oquendo is a scrub, his fight against Ruiz was quite possibly the most boring fight I have ever seen in my life.

I have to disagree with the idea of that fight being a robbery man. I think Byrd won the fight.....it was close but I gave him the nod. He chased Oquendo around the ring, and landed the harder more effective punches towards the later part of the fight when Oquendo gave.

Byrd actually fought like he had some balls, and Oquendo didin't.

Exactly the same thing. Went down hard, but got up at 9 to beat the count. Douglas was actually in worse shape than Sergei was there.

And you got brainwashed by that Don King nonsense, huh? Hehe. The fighter doesn't keep track of time in his head. He gets up according to the ref's count right in front of him.

I don't think it was a bad stoppage, really, like I said. I just don't like it when refs do a count and wave it off when the fighter beats it, without having them take a step towards them and asking them if they're ok.

Why even do a count if you're going to wave it off if the fighter stands up steady at 9? That's my point.

Douglas was on the mat for a 13 count, it's not the same thing at all.

And referees are trained to look for signs of concussion in fighters eyes, and are there for the fighters protection. He took a good look at him and obviously took into consideration the beating he was taking, and waived it off.

Your suggestion that your judgment is better than his makes me laugh. Your crying about it only because you're all over Sergi's nuts.

Give it a rest. He was getting rag dolled for the previous two rounds, went down hard and didn't get up until 9.

Nothing wrong with that stoppage at all. Get over yourself.

Blah, blah, blah. Who is crying about it? Can you read? I said it wasn't really a bad stoppage...it's the way the ref just immediately waves it off when he beats the count without wobbling. If a fgither beats the count and is steady on their feet, then I like to see the ref make the fighter take a step towards them and ask them a question before deciding to stop it. That's my personal opinion. I'm not really sure what part is confusing you. It's a relatively simple concept.
