If anyone thought Algieri or Rios were interesting opponents for Pacquiao I'd say they might need to see if they have a family history of mental illness or ******ation.

Im sure you're aware Cotto and Canelo are fighting next, right?
I do agree HBO has a good end of the year coming up with Klitschko vs Tyson (after years of Klitschko fighting nobodies or no hopers), GGG vs Lemieux & Canelo vs Cotto. Lightning definitely struck for HBO in getting some things aligned well.

I don't care what stars is posted by what website.
Fair enough. I was just looking for an impartial means of judging a fights quality instead of you & I arguing about how good a fight Santa Cruz vs Mares is.

    Pac was a 8-1 favorite v. Algieri, and 4-1 v Rios. Mayweather is 45-1 v Berto.
Betting odds aren't the whole story. Both guys were 140 names who'd done nothing real at 147 to fight the #2 guy at the weight & people were feeling Pacquiao was done after getting KO'd where Mayweather is seen as nearly as exceptional as always & coming off of a HUGE win & going down in levels alot so there is some career distortion in those betting odds imho. At the end of the day all those fights were two of the P4P best guys in the division fighting or planning to fight apparently (I'm still questioning if Mayweather vs Berto real or typical Mayweather misdirection) fighting no hopers.

So you just don't like boxing cards in general then? Cuz what you just described is boxing not just PBC. Most events that happen are 6-12 fights that the red corner will win across the board cuz the blue corner has all losing record boxers in it.

The harsh reality is you can pick the winner 90%+ of the time in pro boxing cuz 90%+ of the fights are mismatches.

Somethings wrong with those star ratings.

HBO has televised like 20 total fights this year and more than half of them were onesided mismatches ... and some were really, really good.

PBC on its current schedule across all of its networks has probably televised around 20 fights in the last month and more than half of them were onesided mismatches ... and some have been really, really good.

If HBO televised as many fights as PBC per month, I really don't think it would have a higher ratio of great matchups or great fights.

HBO wants one of two things: either a really good, meaningful matchup or to showcase a star against a lesser opponent chosen to make him look good. It just does less dates.

PBC does some showcase fights with star power (Broner-Porter being a prime example) that would stand up against HBO's (non-PPV) main events (and some of the PPV ones, too) ... and is also trying to build recognition for its fighters by putting them in against lesser opponents chosen to make them look good.

I don't see much difference except that PBC is putting out a greater volume and also televising a lot of its undercards across the different networks.
