Comments Thread For: Andrade's Promoters Sue Roc Nation Sports For $10 Million

Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, who co-promote WBO junior middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade, have filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation Sports - a sports management company which was founded by rapper Sean 'Jay-Z' Carter.

Last year, Roc Nation Sports announced their intention to enter the sport of professional boxing as a promotional company [under the company name of Roc Nation Boxing]. Within the last six months, they signed up Puerto Rican superstar Miguel Cotto and top pound-for-pound Olympic gold medal winner Andre Ward.

wrong. If it were under 1 banner, with no competition, then what would happen is Andrade would have been told "youre fighting Charlo for $25 grand, or sit for a year. your choice".

But business competition aside, this whole thing falls on Andrades team. They agreed to deals they couldnt legally make, and they let someone dangling a nickel in front of them take their eyes off the prize, because they were already under contract. What they SHOULD have said to Roc was "buy our paper from Star, and THEN we'll talk".

      But they didnt........

So theyre basically suing RN for their poor decision.

Money talks, shouldve gotten that paper and them signatures before pulling out of the Charlo fight. Amateur mistake on Andrades management.

WOW! Yeah this explains why Andrade career is on hold, one again this is proof that the man is surround by complete idiots who seem as if they have no clue how things work in the sport of boxing what a shame that such a talented fighter career is stalled

This Lawsuit seems like some BS as well! I read all of that and is still confused as *** as to what exactly happened. Seems like Andrade team THOUGHT they had a deal in place with Roc Nation or something or they just assumed that Roc Nation was going to come to their rescue

Damn, first Al Haymon, then 50 Cent, then Jay Z.

I don't recall anyone suing Bob Arum. Safe to say the old man knows his **** in boxing.
