Boxing in a Street/Bar Fight: Useful, or not?

Without boxing you don't have a chance in a street fight! The first thing people do when they engage in a fight is go into a their Boxing Stance.
The Average trained boxer will destroy the Average person in the streets who are not trained in boxing. As for the MMA Stuff, I don't know where some of you guys live but for the most part Street Fights are hand to hand combat 99.9% of the time which a few guys who like to go for take downs but they know they can't fight.
Big fan of MMA but it won't be any time to pull out Arm Bars and Choke Holds in a Street Fight. Again we're talking about a Street Fight in which anything goes. I would much rather stay on my feet in a street fight, GOD forbid somebody pulls out a gun or a knife, last place on want to be is on the ground having some guy in a choke hold and his friend pull out a gun and start shooting because his guy is being choked out
The Average person and to be honest I don't think many of the MMA fighters would be able to land a clean punch on a well trained boxer.Last edited by sicko; 07-31-2015, 01:52 PM.

I've had the experience of fighting for my life with a knife in the army and let me tell you, that scene from Saving Private Ryan, you don't want to go out that way.
In a boxers stance you can use your lead hand to block, parry, or grab the hand with a blade in it, or keep it real gutter and wrap a tshirt around your arm if you have time, like you're on the yard.

Anyway, boxing is useful in a street fight. Just knowing how to punch properly can result in you knocking out the average Joe the moment an opportunity presents itself.
He tried to shove me again and I kind of flipped on him a lil bit. Hit him with a right hook and threw him in a headlock with my left hand. I started to hit him with right uppercuts as he struggled and I think I landed 10-15 before he slipped out of the headlock. When he went to go stand up all the way, I landed a straight right on his chin and he fell backwards to the floor.
One of my friends grabbed me and was like "Man, we don't need this crap, just leave him and we'll call security." That was the first time I had to punch at someone in years.
