I dislike Stevenson and would like to see Kovalev knock him out
With that said, Im not a blind fanboy like 80% of the posters here. I call it like I see it. The only fanboys I see here are the ones defending Kovalev's stance, and insisting the fight should ONLY be carried on HBO despite what they are paying. Again, Its not Stevensons fault Duva had to whore herself to HBO and basically take what they can get. HBO is holding back Kovalev if this is case, heck they might not even air his next fight. People blaming Stevensons side on this are ridiculousComment

No it was a nice PR move by Team Kov. They knew he just came off win and called out Stevenson knowing they are attached to HBO.
Stevenson called the bluff lets see what team Kov do now.Last edited by Fetta; 07-27-2015, 01:43 PM.Comment

It doesnt matter what promotion or exclusive network deal the fight has. Purse bid overrides all of that. Its not a valid Kovalev excuse and its amusing seeing people try to pull that card lolComment

Kovalev's HBO deal isn't a problem in itself. HBO could choose to let Kovalev out for one fight if they lose the bidding for the fight. That's what commonly happens in the case of purse bids.
But in this case Duva is choosing to do what's best for the network (HBO) over doing what's best for the fighter. You can't argue that putting the fight out to bid isn't in the fighter's best interest...yet Duva won't do that. Too bad Kovalev won't stop her from doing that.Comment
