He also started at 130 lbs and fought Bernard Hopkins for the middleweight title hell Floyd won't even fight Canelo at the full 154 pound limit. If you tell ODLH don't fight this guy you can't win he will say "wanna bet" you tell Floyd the same thing he will say "yeah, who else can i fight with stipulations and try to get full credit for?" It isn't that hard!!!
he also rehydrated to 147 when he started at 130...your story is so one sided..trinidad the best fighter in the world ey?? or just a big ww bullying out of prime whitakers? wat happened when he went up in weight? EXPOSED!..floyd beat ppl 15-20lbs bigger and younger...end of story..he didnt fight th best early? ask yourself who ducked him...and paul willaims came out and said himself floyd was too big for my small name at that time..and he was still fightin p4p champs..

I don't get the majority of the hate for Floyd. I'm a fan of boxing, as I'm sure most of you all are, I enjoy the sport, period. If a card sucks, sure it's not as entertaining, but I still watch it, I don't care, because I'm a fan of the sport.

Do I care about their lives outside the sport? Nah, not at all. I don't judge them on what they do outside of the ring. And you can point to ducking and dodging to tarnish a career, but doesn't every boxer do that? Can't you name plenty of boxers who "avoided" a certain fighter at a certain point in their career? Pretty much every single one.

It's cool if you don't like the person in general, but crying about it makes you look more lame, like you really, really care about how other people perceive your comment on a boxing site.

For his type of style of boxing, what has he done wrong? ****, you got pure boxers that have NO EXPOSURE, and I mean NONE, Ward? How well known is an Andre Ward vs Floyd Mayweather? How well known is a Rigo vs Floyd Mayweather?

If this sport is one you love, then at least appreciate and admit, aside from his personal life, he's done much for this sport. And regardless of who he picks as his last few opponents, ya'll are still going to watch it.

Not even Mayweather is immune to the curse, and no I'm not talking about the Marciano curse. I mean the inability to go out on top, every fighter comes back for that next payday until time catches up to them. I hope he stops at 50 at the most and doesn't tempt fate.

This sounds like B.S. I bet that this ends up being just another unfounded rumor...or better yet, someone's attempt to steal Floyd's thunder on his retirement fight.

SHO/CBS won't be able to market this as Floyd's last fight if they've entered into a three-fight extension.

When it comes to Mayweather, t's amazing how many uninformed "sources" consistently get reported as fact by everyone from blogs to TMZ to mainstream newspapers.

Floyd fought guys in their prime and the ones that he didn't fight in their prime was not his fault. It was business that got in the way. Don't even talk about Margarito and Cotto when Cotto was right there at 140 when Floyd was at the same weight class and when he schooled Gatti, Cotto and Hatton wanted no parts of him.

If Oscar was not under Arum he would deal with the same issues that Floyd is, but he wouldn't receive the same backlash.

Man....so you are saying Oscar was a nobody and got exposed yet Mayweather's biggest victory was against him when he was old and a drug addict and he barely won that fight!!!

Finito was was 51-0-1 when he retired undefeated. If Floyd fights and wins 3 more fights after #49 it would give him 52-0. I like this idea as long as there is good fighters in the mix. Floyd should troll Khan until his last fight lol... well Khan might get clipped by even a pillow puncher by then lol.

This is SHO playing abit of hardball I think, they'll let Floyd fight his easy fight, but hes going to have to sign an extension first just incase he decides to continue fighting, they would have the rights. I absolutely get it.
That's just smart business on their part. I doubt Floyd ever goes above 50 fights but in the off chance he does, CBS will get their cut.

I sure hope this rumour comes from a PBC/TMT source and not Top Rank or GBP. Maybe someone inside the network. Then again, I'm not exactly keen on Mayweather fighting on.
